I love this place. I'm not in the neighborhood often but when I am, I try to come in for the sangria. The food here is great. I can't say you'll be disappointed with anything, and definitely check out the happy hour if you can. We had the coconut prawns, the tacos al pastor, and the chop chop salad, as well as the nachos. On the happy hour menu the nachos are probably the best value. All of it was good.

Free chips and salsa - and great chips at that. Giant salads (want lunch tomorrow?). Sandwiches, fries, beef dishes... If you're in Mill Creek, this is the place to be.

It's a good place for HHs. We do girl's HHs there sometimes. Food is consistently good. We love their red sangria!

Mill Creek you say? Well... yes... Mill Creek I say! I own a rental home in this area, and occasionally I meet friends up north for Happy Hour. The traffic is horrid, so I don't suggest going here from anywhere south unless you already up in this neck of the woods. THAT being said, this HH is fun, and has some great options for a stellar price point! $4 sessions, $5 margaritas (Big ones), $5 wines, and beers on tap at $4 I believe. The HH really goes off on the food. Tacos, quesadillas, dips, etc are all $3, with the next step up dishes prawns, lobster, etc being $5-$7. The HH is only in the bar, so it gets packed...so just hover and drool and before you know it, you have a spot! JK, not too bad getting a spot. Service is decent...and on more than one occasion I have arrived right at the end of HH and ordered a ton of stuff, multiple drinks, and they did not complain, just honored the HH pricing. Brunch here is pretty fun too...but it is all texmex style, so that isn't your thing, definetely not for you! The burrito is way too big and not human. Tacos are more my speed, but maybe you like to eat things that are bigger than your head. Don't be blue, goto Azul.

While I wouldn't recommend ordering Salmon from here, much of the other items on their menu are great. If you come here on a friday/saturday night it will be packed, but the place is pretty opening/spacious with more romantic-esque lighting. Out of the handful of times I've gone there for dinner/drinks I find myself waiting for one or the other, then again it's a very busy restaurant but I still think it's something that is worth mentioning. BTW - The chips & salsa are freakishly divine.

Came here for Happy Hour- What great prices!!! House Margaritas for $6 and a large menu of happy hour food starting at $4.. The salsa is Delicious.. I ordered the wedge salad and a Chicken Quesadilla- It was totally yummy. Our server was totally nice- Its really busy there for happy hour ( was on a Thursday night ) She took great care of our table of six- Everyone was super happy with their drinks and food- Loved my tab of around $20 for two margaritas and food.. Can't wait to come back and try more of the items!

We had 5 in our group. We sat at a table in the bar. They brought just one small bowl of salsa and chips which were gone quickly. We asked for more and waited a long time. We all ordered drinks and they were good. My friend ordered a glass of wine to go with her dinner - she had to ask about it twice and she had finished her meal before it showed up. Another friend ordered some soup and she had just one bite - too much cumin. They offered a new meal and she ordered an appetizer that took a long time - we were all done eating by the time she got her food. They had good sporting events on TVs - Tennis, baseball, hand wrestling. My food was delicious - Baja shrimp tacos. My son's was very tasty - blackened chicken pasta. Food over all was tasty and well-presented. Service was not so great. We were thinking maybe our waitress was new ... I'd go back.

Carne Asada Salad ($15) - 4/5. Still on the pricier side, but definitely a better deal than the carne asada tacos imo. Refreshing salad with blue cheese dressing, bacon bits, tomato, avocado and a big ol slab of steak! Make sure to also try out their chips and salsa (house made). Absolutely delicious! Tomato based, but varies slightly day to day (some days more garlic, some days more jalapeno).

I'm personally not at all a fan of Americanized Mexican food outside of Chipotle. It just all seems too pricey to me when I know I can have out-of-this-world food for less than $10. The food is by no means low quality. I'll give them that. They use good quality cuts of meats, the veggies are fresh and they make decent margaritas. I will even give them props for falling in the "hip and trendy" category. It's always poppin' in here. Floor to ceiling windows let plenty of light in. At night, it's loungey and there's certainly something for everyone in terms of the food. However, I can't rate this place higher because I like Mexican food only when there's a chance of food poisoning. I also want there to be some miscommunication with my server. I even like the torture of the slow and low heat of some Mexican peppers creeping up on me making me consume one too many margaritas just to put out the fire in my mouth. Dare I say it? I like a little bit more authenticity when I go out for Mexican. My annoying preference for the ever-elusive "authenticity" aside, the food is always just a touch too bland for my liking. I'm not even asking for a kick in my hypothetical nuts kind of spicy. I just want a little more cilantro here and there. Some red onions. A touch more lime. A touch more fat in the carnitas. A little more aggressive seasoning here and there would go a long way. When my first question after I take a bite of any Mexican food is, "Is there hot sauce here somewhere?" it's certainly not going to win any awards. But I will likely be back. It's at least consistent and service is always very friendly. Portions are big and salsas are homemade. It also is a solid one for picky eaters.

Chicken nachos are bomb AF and their taquito games is now on point . PS the chop chop is fire. Azul's happy hour is Mexican perfection

Great service. I love their Carne Asada. I order it every time! I also love their salmon! Don't even think just go and try their food!!

My wife and her friends love this place. The service is good, prices are reasonable for mill creek, and the food she enjoys. I have been twice. I would rate 3 stars but for my wife I give it another star. The music is too loud for my liking and the food was a bit bland. All in all it is worth trying to see if you are more like my wife than me. That said, mill creek has a lot of choices so I will keep shopping around.

There is a lot to like about this place. Extremely clean with great service, quality food and a good ambiance that's relaxing and easy to lose track of time. Yes it's Americanized mexican, but it's really good food with a fresh taste. My friend and I shared the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers. If you go here, do yourself a favor and try these. Amazing! We also had the Steak Nachos. Their chips are very good and the steak was cooked prefect with the right ratio of seasoning. If you're gonna base your review on authenticity, do them a favor choose another place. If you want great food and a good experience, absolutely worth the visit.

We love Azul and ate there often before moving out of the area. The weekend brunch was outstanding, reasonably priced, and great quality. Their homemade salsa is the bomb!

  • Mona M.

I went here for happy hour and they have a great red sangria!!! They also had delicious appies. We started with the corn and avocado dip, which is great! Lots of avocados mixed with fire roasted corn kernels served with tortilla chips. For dinner, I had the blackened fish tacos, 2 large tacos with lots of fish and vegetables on flour tortillas. Definitely going back! Their bar has lots of TVs too, so it's great to watch games..etc

This place is a little spendy...we can't ever leave here without dropping over $100 on food & drinks. We ordered the calamari appetizer, we are kind of "snobs" when it comes to calamari, and this calamari did not deliver. It really had no kick to it, and the dipping sauce was like a lemony mayonnaise - and I'd rather have something "chipotle" or more kickier - they do serve the calamari with deep fried jalapeno coins, but even those didn't seem very spicy. I ordered the Habanero Shrimp Enchilada for my entree -- it comes with black beans, and rice. It was wonderful!! But three stars, because their calamari wasn't very good, and this place kicks you in the wallet.

Best carne asada! The atmosphere is fun and great place to have dinner and happy hour with friends. The drinks are tasty and their nachos are delicious. Stays open late which makes it a great hang out.

We like coming here for brunch on the weekends. Usually we sit at the bar and get the carne asada and two egg breakfast with a side of fruit. Coffee is good and service is consistent and on par. They offer a few drinks on their menu from their sister restaurant Indigo and have a nice selection of tequila and beers on tap. A variety of options are avail for happy hour. Note: the televisions don't have audio because they don't have a license, which bites when watching premier spring events like the World Cup and Seahawks game.

Great happy hour specials, food and customer service. My husband had happy hour a couple weeks ago, and I forgot to order a dish well done. I had read the menu, knew how it was cooked, and totally forgot. When I got my fiod, understandably about half of it was not cooked the way I liked. So I ate what I could and left the rest on the plate. Our server asked if there was something wrong with the food, and I explained my mistake and that it was my fault. Even with my explanation, she removed the item from our tab. Such stellar service every time we're there. The only drawback is that they are so popular during happy hour that you can't always get a seat.

This great little spot in Mill Creek was pretty crowded for a weekday lunch, that's always a good sign. My server recommended the seafood enchiladas over the habanero shrimp enchiladas and they were fantastic. The chips and salsa were great too!

Hubby and I decided to go out tonight for dinner and while we had actually been to Azul recently for happy hour with friends, it had been quite a while since we'd gone for dinner and tonight did not disappoint! The place was hopping as always, but that didn't get in the way of our server taking great care of us. She brought a second round of chips and salsa before the first was even empty, so like usual, I was stuffed before dinner even showed up. Can I just say the marinade they use on their carne asada is aMAZing?! And the green beans are like no others I've had! I'm not sure why we had forgotten how great the food was, but now that we've been reminded, we'll be back soon! :)

I came here with some girlfriends during happy hour. The atmosphere is nice and our waitress was friendly. Sangria was excellent. However this is one of the few Mexican restaurants I've been too where the only thing I could order as a vegetarian were the veggie fajitas. And it cost me $16! That's ridiculous!! I could have made everyone at my table fajitas for $16. The beans are made with bacon, thankful the waitress told me. If you're vegan - I'd avoid this place. I probably won't be back, unless they can offer a better eat-free option for a reasonable price.

Love it when Mexican restaurants have chips and salsa just brought out for you to enjoy while you wait for your food to come out. Not to mention that the salsa was delicious! Just the perfect amount of spice to it. For dinner I ordered the carne asada tacos. They were really tasty. They also had a little kick to them, but not too spicy. The only thing is I really like my steak to be thoroughly cooked and my carne asada was a little too pink for me. Still good tho. All in all great Friday night spot.

Never been in before and finally got the chance. The service was good and the environment was good but wasn't blown away by the food. Had the carne asada sandwich, which was okay. I'll try finding different next time and update my review. Definitely going back.

First off, let me start by saying I'm over 21 but my girfriend is not - circumstances which my experience at Azul is based upon. We came for happy hour on a Sunday afternoon, when the place was pretty dead. There was tons of seating available. You can only order happy hour from the bar area - but since my girlfriend is not 21, I couldn't order a drink since they ID both people (I came here mostly for a Bloody Mary). So we goto the main part of the restaurant, but are told we cannot order anything from the happy hour menu. I can understand why we can't order happy hour from the main restaurant area if it was busy, but it wasn't. And this isn't downtown Seattle... it's Mill Creek. I'm surprised the waitress wasn't forgiving in any way, given the circumstances. Bummer, because I really wanted to try this place out and give this business my money - guess not.

Azul has become one of my go-to spots for getting together with my Washington friends when I come home to visit. The Mill Creek location is a great compromise for my Seattle and Snohomish friends and the restaurant provides a laidback vibe amid a fun atmosphere. On my recent trip, the wait staff was super about accommodating my rapidly growing group. We quickly outgrew our table of eight and they pulled together a table for 12 in the main dining room. We still overflowed into another table but I really appreciated their effort to make room for everyone. Out of all the times that I've visited Azul, I think that I've maybe eaten here one time. But I can recommend it as a great place to grab a drink in the Mill Creek Town Center.

First time here and will definitely be back! Got the carne asada, which came with green beans and mashed potatoes. It was excellent! Then had to get a cocktail of course, so ordered the skinny scratch margarita which was ok... I REALLY dislike pulp so maybe I will ask to not have it muddled so much next time.

Great little spot to meet up with a girlfriend for a quick happy hour or go have dinner with a loved one. There drinks are great and my favorite dish to get is always the chicken nachos. The girls there are super sweet especially the platinum blonde one. (Sorry, I always forget her name). She ALWAYS has a genuine smile on her face and gives you top notch customer service.

I've been here twice or thrice, the chips and salsa are BOMB! They are enough of a reason for me to crave this place. My bf is not a huge fan of mexican/hispanic food but we shared the fish tacos once, and then shrimp fajitas another time. Both were very good and plenty large enough for two people! I'll definitely be back here many more times to try out more of the menu. This place is always packed, idk if they have reservations, but for two people its always about a 15-30 minute wait and the place is always packed. They also stay open till 1AM I think which is a huge bonus for me since I get late night munchies. Great...now I want chips and salsa!

Great happy hour, regular menu dosnt taste as good as the gasp hour menu!! Their beef bites, Quesada, jalapeno poppers, and calamari are the best ever!!

Azuls is always my HH go to spot! Their chips and salsa are to die for and I've had just about everything on the HH menu and though they're all amazing, my absolute favorite is the chicken taquito plate paired with their famous salsa. SO. FREAKING. YUMS. I also really appreciate the great customer service I always receive here. All the waitresses and bartenders have been very friendly and out going and it makes for a great environment. Oh and the music is always on point! Nothing like catching up with friends over a few drinks and great music in the background to up the vibes! The few downfalls of catching HH here is there's almost always a decently long wait to sit in the bar and it isn't exactly the cheapest HH around. I don't mind it though because this isn't your typical wings and beer kind of HH, its worth the few extra bucks!

  • Maxwell M.

Azul is pretty awesome. Great service, solid happy hour, super dope fish tacos. No really. Super dope fish tacos. And a decent bar. I can order a Negroni there and if the bar manager is on shift, it's pretty dang good. Otherwise their beer selection is solid. The food is wonderful and the vibes are nice. Great place to come after a shift and kick back for a bit. Patio seating is plentiful for when the weather is cooperative, the staff is always friendly, prompt, and the perfect amount of attentive, and they are great members of the town center community. One of my favorite joints to send people who want to check out what Mill Creek has to offer.

Food is great quality and worth the price. Customer service from staff needs to improve. This place gets busy so expect a wait on a weekend at peak hours.

YUM!! The salsa is so good and free during dinner hours. I got the Carne Asada Salad and it was to die for. Good service too - they gave me a whole new steak when I didn't think mine was cooked quite enough (medium well, not medium next time). We will definitely be back!

I wanted to love this place. :( The staff was AMAZING & very friendly... The food was good; not bad but not something I'll crave in the future. The decor was warm & welcoming & the drinks were strong! But... overall it was just OK. The salsa was kind of bland (we added a bit of salt & some lime - much better). The avocado corn dip was pretty much just chunks of avocado & cumin. My boyfriend got the Carne Asada & liked it - thank god at $19! He felt that he didn't get "Mexican food" but instead an odd but good dish. I got the $15 Salmon Burrito. There was a lot of salmon and it was tender but it was SPICY! They brought me an amazing, dense chocolate caramel cake for my birthday. Happy Hour menu looks AMAZING & it's 24/7. They won't split checks during that time FYI. I will return, especially for friendly service & happy hour menu. For me, the salsa missed the mark & I just don't find myself craving this place.

I have heard a lot about this place and what great food they served so I had to try it out with my BFF. We went at about noon on a Monday holiday. The bar and restaurant were both half full already. We sat at a table in the bar area. Chips and salsa came first (EXCELENT salsa, but a bit garlicy and oniony, so pass if you want to make out with your date later). For drinks my friend ordered a margarita and I ordered a blood orange concoction. His was delicious, but mine was extremely sour and bitter. After asking the waitress if she could take it back and add a bit of simple syrup or something, she suggested I get something else, and I did order a regular margarita, which was amazing (and not lacking in the booze department... woo hoo!). Our server was very considerate, polite, and throughout our stay, top notch. We ordered the crab/shrimp cakes as an app, but while the flavor was ok, the consistency was much like a slightly pulpy baby food. Not my favorite. But the sauce they served with it was delicious. I don't recommend the crab cakes. For an entree, my friend got the habanero shrimp enchiladas, which I tried and were excellent. Very spicy, but also flavorful with a light cream sauce . The waitress had recommended the blackened fish tacos for me and I was not disappointed. The fish was moist and flavorful, a little green cabbage, and a nice citrus sour cream sauce on flour tortillas, served with smoky black beans and a little Spanish rice . I would have liked a little bit more spice on the fish, but adding a little of the salsa they served with chips worked out just fine. Summary, good food, and excellent service, drinks and salsa. We will be going back.

I came here a couple of times and enjoyed it. We try to come here for happy hour because they have good deals on food. This one time, my boyfriend and infant son came here for brunch during their happy hour. Since we didn't sit at the bar because our son was with us, we weren't able to order from the happy hour menu which sucks. I enjoyed their chicken caesar salad, nachos and I always order their sangrias!! They're super yummy!!

  • Rebekah W.

Came in this morning for the first time and it was awesome that they brought out chips and salsa. I definitely wasn't expecting that for brunch. Our server Christine was really awesome, cheerful, and attentive, and all of our food came out really fast. We had the carne asada and eggs and a breakfast burrito and both were super tasty. The drinks were good too, and reasonably priced! I'll definitely be coming back again for brunch because lots of stuff on the menu looked great.

  • Eric M.

We had to send back 2 orders that were cold, very nice that they didn't end up charging. My fajitas were just ok, not much flavor. I think this place has been going down hill the last few visits.

  • Jason B.

The Calamari was awesome and the Margaritas were tasty, our server on our first visit at about 10:30pm was friendly and always smiling however on our second visit in the AM for brunch while the food was good (I had the blue berry pancakes) our server looked like she partied too much the previous night and was suffering from a hang over or she just down right hated her job. Her interactions were not genuine and her smile was as fake as could ever be. * Note to manager.... Friendliness of service goes a long way, while you can teach basic skills you cant teach someone personality. With that said I love this place and will surely be back.

  • Bambee G.

Good, friendly service. They are good at remembering our family when we go in. Brunch is amazing on the weekends. They have seemed to struggle with getting the salmon right lately, make sure you specify how you want it cooked.

I never had a reason to visit Mill Creek until some friends moved up there. We arrived late afternoon. The restaurant had their windows open and the cool summer breeze flowed through. We sat in a booth near the back. The food was pretty good. The portion size was large. The service could have been better. Customers shouldn't have to ask if their water could be filled. She could have done a better job scanning our table for anything we needed. Hopefully she'll learn to be more attentive. I probably won't be back because it's so far away and because of the lack of service.

Go during happy hour and you won't be disappointed. Almost half off on food you would eat for lunch and dinner. Their rum and whisky menu is great. My fav is flank steak salad, carne asada cooked medium.

  • Robert B.

Very bad experience. The waitress was rude from the time we walked in. She didn't seem to have time to deal with the customers. The dishes, every single one was dirty including the silver ware. The food was cold. The deal breaker was when we asked for more than one slice of lemon. The waitress replied "what more than that" POINTING WITH HER FINGER INTO MY DISH !!!!when we expressed our feelings about the experience to that point we were asked to leave. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There are a few good restaurants on the same street. Boston's is very good. Go there instead.

FOOD POISONING. Not only that but I emailed them right away to let them know. It took days for a response and basically blew me off. I called the next day before they opened for lunch and the asst manager said she basically didn't believe me and laughed and said the general manager would be in at 10pm that night and he would call me. He never did. My friend and I both had water, chips and salsa and the carne asada tacos. We were both incredibly sick to our stomachs within hours. Before this experience Azul was my favorite restaurant in Mill Creek. I even had plans to take a client to dinner there the following night. I emailed the restaurant a 2nd time and again no response. I've never had food poisoning before and take this situation very seriously. What is way more disturbing to me that getting physically ill from the food served at Azul was the complete lack of response, respect or care that this situation deserves. I didn't want and still don't want a gift certificate for free food or anything lame like that. All I wanted was to speak to management and figure out the source of bad food and protect future patrons. Too much to expect? Am I out of line here?

  • Angela C.

I love coming here for brunch on the weekends. The service here is always good as well. I don't think I've gotten something here that I didn't enjoy. I love their fish tacos, pancakes, burritos, etc...obviously not all at once :)

  • Danielle K.

Used to love this restaurant. Their food is quite good especially for this area. HOWEVER, I ordered a to go order and it came out wrong, I asked them to remake it which they did. I apologized to the waitress and even tipped extra because they remade it and told her I was sorry that I am vegetarian and don't eat dairy. When I got home the order was still wrong. It had bacon on it! I called in to see what they could do as far as refunding my food or doing something for me since I could not eat the salad the way it was. Unfortunately the manager was very rude and would not offer me anything. He said that since I ordered the salad not exactly as they had on the menu (no dressing, no bacon) that there was nothing he could do for me. He said the server didn't write that down when it was originally ordered so there was nothing he could do. So it is basically a he said she said and there was nothing he could do for me since they provided me with a meal that was on the menu. I think this is a really really bad way to run a business. If you can't accommodate people with food restrictions and can't take specifications to orders than you really shouldn't be in business. This is just plain bad customer service.

Came here with friends for their happy hour.....apparently this is suppose to be the best hh Mill Creek and I was soooo disappointed. First of, we started off with getting drinks and my friend wanted to know what beers were on tap and then the waitress just left abruptly. Another server came back with a glass of wine, and when we denied that no one from our table ordered that, our server came back and pointed to my friend and said that she did. She was so snappy and and kept trying to pressure my friend to take the drink that she didn't order....finally she just left w/ the wine and we ended up with a new waitress....thank god, but this one was only slightly better. This new waitress just seemed to be ditzy and always forgot to bring us stuff that we asked for. Service was just terrible, but I guess I will move on to talking about the food. I decided to try the 2 blackened fish tacos for $6.....they were alright...nothing too delicious.....so I think I will have to pass on it in the future. Some of my friends just ordered chicken quesadillas($4).....they were your standard quesadillas that you could easily just make at home. I think the best deal was the $5 nachos....it was huge! Just a bunch of nachos that were covered in cheese, pico de gallo, black beans, and chicken...that was the best plate at the table and I would honestly go back just to eat that....definitely worth the $5. But because the service was so horrible, I would rather just go somewhere else to spend my money where servers aren't so snappy and try to guilt trip you into buying something that you did not initially order. Pros: - hh runs from 3-6pm and 10pm-midnight everyday...awesome hours - $5 nachos are an AWESOME deal! Shared it with all 6 of us! Cons: - Service was just horrible...who wants to eat somewhere where the waiters try to force you to buy something that you never ordered before - 2 fish blackened fish tacos were not worth the $6...I would have paid $2 based off the quality of what I received Why I gave it a 2..... The hh hours are great! They aren't obscure hours that no one can go to.....and the nachos were delicious....everything else about Azul was just bad.....I don't know if it was just because of the night or what. But it was just an awful experience and I wanted to leave right after that waitress tried to make my friend buy that drink she didn't order. Maybe one day I will give Azul another chance...but not for a long whiles...they really left a bad taste in my mouth.

The service was very good overall. The waitress and seating staff were definitely good. I ordered the Seafood enchiladas (stuffed with shrimp and fish) for $13 (I hate places that don't list their prices on their site, but it was very reasonably priced, so it wasn't like they were trying to price gouge by hiding). If you're hoping for a lot of shrimp, you'll be disappointed in that I probably only got 4 pieces in my enchilada. That wasn't a huge deal to me though as they tasted good and the fish stuffing was tasty. I was a huge fan of the black beans. The rice was just sort of meh filler though. I also got a top shelf Margarita. It was strong, but I'd definitely opt for the cheaper $7 version than pay the extra $2 for the top shelf version next time. It was good, just not $9 good in my opinion. Overall, it's a quality Mexican place that steers in a different (refreshing in my opinion) direction than the Mazatlan/Azteca type places. I'm a big fan of those places as well, but sometimes it's nice to get something different. The interior is fairly small as well, so keep that in mind when visiting.

I really like Azul's! I really do. The chips are great, the salsa has a nice kick and all the food I've had here from their mexican cuisine to their burgers (yes, I've ordered a burger here) have all been fantastic. My husband especially loves this place because they know how to do "spicy" right - unlike a lot of other places. I also bring my doggie here with me often and he sits right outside the patio area. I wish he could sit with me but that is fine - I realize that's common practice. I also come here often to meet friends for happy hour and they have a fantastic happy hour menu as well! Solid eats, fun meet up spot - go!

This is a great happy hour joint. The strawberry lemondrop martini is a great drink for all the girly drink lovers out there! Tastes just like strawberry lemonade :) We got the chicken nachos and the fish tacos off the HH menu and loved them both! The only reason I knocked down to 4 stars is because service was a tad slow. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our happy hour experience here!

This is my favorite weekend restaurant. My boyfriend and I go there specifically for their Eggs Benedict and breakfast potatoes. I wish they served this all week long, but it is only available weekend mornings for their brunch. I love how they bring chips and a salsa that actually has heat! It's perfect for me and my boyfriend because we love spice. They also leave a small water decanter at your table so you can refill your water as needed without bothering your waiter. Amazing food, cool atmosphere, respectable prices and good service. What else could you want.

I was a bit concerned heading to Azul for the first time based on some of the previous reviews, particularly about the seemingly poor service. I can only comment on our experience here, which was awesome from beginning to end. Our party of four arrived around 645p on a Friday evening. The place was packed - usually a good sign - so we put our name on the list and wedged our way into the bar area (equally crowded). We quickly got a round of drinks and milled about for ten minutes or so when one of the bar-area servers asked us if we wanted to take four seats at a large table in the back (eight seats, two occupied by another group). We did and got great service from her for the rest of our trip. Great chips and salsa followed up by the very good guacamole appetizer. Another round (or two) of drinks came right on time, and dinner was served surprisingly quickly considering how busy the place was. Food was very good, not sloppy Mexican food like many places serve these days, and we even had a brownie with ice cream to celebrate a birthday. All in all, a great first trip to Azul. We'll definitely go back.

The happy hour was great! Get the BBQ pork sandwich! The pork is well-seasoned, moist, and tasty! The portion is huge too for $5. The fish tacos is pretty good too. No where near as good as Maui, but then again, this is Seattle or Mill Creek for that matter. The bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers is ok. As for drinks, I got the sangria and my fiance got a Pacifica. Both drinks were reasonably good. We've been here several time for dinner as well - anything with pork is always solid. Been here twice for brunch and both times were meh. Overall: Happy hour: 4 stars Dinner: 3.5 stars Brunch: 2 stars

My wife and I absolutely love Azul. I would have rated it higher, but the prices are a little high for what it is and the service we've received has been just ok at best. Highlights- Carne Asada is the best in the area by a mile. This is usually the measuring stick I judge a Mexican joint by and theirs is the best around. Happy Hour menu, and then the late night happy hour menu are good deals. Fish Tacos are usually pretty great. My wife LOVES their chicken tortilla soup, which is gluten free and very fresh Lowlights- The service is usually pretty bad. They're crammed at night and on the weekends (a good sign but annoying if you're waiting for a table). The bar is right in the main dining area, so it gets REALLY loud. And the snobbery at Azul amongst employees and the clientele is astronomically high. Once you get past those smallish issues, the food is worth it for sure.

It's solid...if I can't think of another place to visit, I'll come here. It's close to my house and the Mac-n-Jack is always cold. The food is OK for bar food as I've tried a dozen of their dishes so far. Perhaps the one which beckons me back the most are the habanero prawns. Everything else...meh. Service is generally not good. I come back for the convenience and it generally offers a lively scene. Oh, for a nicer mexican joint, it has no mezcal? Need to fix that.

The food is delicious, the quality and flavors are much better than the average Mexican restaurant, the menu has more variety and each item has unique special touches like the citrus sour cream in the chicken tacos for example. If you are in the mood for Mexican food but want something a little different this is the place to go.

How does this place get so many positive reviews? Their food is gross! My husband and I took our daughter there over the weekend. My daughter got cheese nachos and french fries. How do you screw that up? It looked like sad hospital cafeteria food. My husband and I didn't like what we ordered either. I think Azteca would be a step up from this place. If you want Mexican food, try Tu Casa in Redmond. It's way better and probably a lot cheaper.

Having lived in Arizona for quite a while I have developed an affinity for high quality Mexican cuisine. The first indication of a good Mexican restaurant is the quality of the chips and salsa. According to our waiter, the salsa is made fresh daily by a gal who comes in specifically to whip up a fresh batch. This salsa is about as good as it gets. Hot - but not too hot, and full of rich and complex flavor. The ambiance is both casual and sophisticated. You could feel just as comfortable in your "game day" apparel as you would before/after attending a black tie event. It's not too dark, nor to bright. The candles in the wall are a nice touch and must take some bit of effort to light every day. It's the nice little touches that make the place feel welcoming and inviting. The staff is always courteous, the prices are reasonable, and the quality of food exceptional. This is one of our favorites. We take all of our out of town guests here and this tends to be one of the more memorable dining experiences.

Yum! I came here for dinner with my dad and we were both quite happy with our choices. He loved his seafood enchiladas, while my chicken enchiladas with red sauce were good, with a nice spice that wasn't overwhelming. The waiter was nice and did a good job checking up on us, and also was very patient when we were slow to leave after paying the bill. The chips and salsa were also really good. The biggest downside was that the space seems both small and large at the same time, which is a little strange, and it got loud as it got busier. Also, dad's cocktail tasted rather wimpy, but that might be because he drank most of it before I arrived and got a taste.

The strip mall. The angle-in parking. The far burbs. The schoolkid waitstaff. The rather lowered expectations that come with such a setting. But there's much to admire. High walls of windows. Plenty of light. High ceilings. All new everything front to back. All thanks to the location. Plenty of flat screens, big fancy bar, nice and airy and easy to get around. A good spot to have a drink and watch the game. But best of all, the kitchen actually knows what it's doing. A couple wedge salads, a decent chop salad, plenty of carne asada dishes, plenty of things going by with chunks of fresh avocado. Delicious salsas, housemade. Good from breakfast through dinner (I've had breakfast and dinner, and sample bites of lunch). Given that the prices are good and you're not being asked to go out of your way to get here, it's a great spot.

The best time and only time to go is the happy hour. Why? Cause Mexican food shouldn't be that much. Food is pretty good. Kitchen staff definitely know there food. What I don't understand is why don't they just keep the happy hour menu through out the day? Place will be packed all day, not just after 10pm. C'mon man!

  • Katie O.

Pretty amazed by how they were able to seat us immediately when the place was packed to the gills! My friend and I came here later in the evening, and I don't remember if it was happy hour or not. But the nachos were gigantic in portion, and my drink was delicious.

I went here with my family on Mother's Day. The food here was good for brunch after waiting an hour and a half to get it. I know that on Mother's Day restaurants can be crowded but waiting an hour and a half for food is ridiculous. The entire restaurant was waiting and the sad part is it wasn't that busy either. Our server also only apologized about the wait and never notified us that the kitchen was backed up (again...not that crowded). When we finally did get our food our server never came back to check on us and someone in our party had to get up from the table to ask someone for a knife. Had the service been better I'd be giving this place a higher review because the food was decent once it arrived. I don't need to go back.

Like the restaurant. Ambiance is good. Drinks are great. Takeout is HORRIBLE! Order after order are incorrect. Forget sauces, asked specifically for a substitute and not done. Extra salad. I know it gets loud, but please fix this. I or my husband have gotten all the way home before realizing, called back to tell management but nothing changes. Bummed.

I lost 4 hours of my life to Azul. No, I did not spend 4 hours at the restaurant. But I did go to happy hour, ate close to every morsel of the food I got, returned home and fell into a deep deep food coma. 4 dishes, 4 hours in food coma. No joke. Take aways from this experience? Their chicken nachos can feed a small village in [insert country of choice]. Next time I know. And now you do, too.

Best Steak salad everrrrr!!! They always cook the meat to perfection, juicy and tender. Super fun atmosphere, it's always a busy place so best to plan on either waiting for a table or sitting in the bar, which is what i prefer anyway. Service isn't quite that memorable, but i've never had an experience to keep me from going back. Their weekend brunch is a must!! Strong drinks. Delicious food. that's good enough for me!

More disappointment from another Mexican food restaurant. On the plus side, it's got a cool ambiance. I brought a few dates here in my single days and I just enjoyed the happy hour and drinks. The place definitely infuses some of the Seattle flavor into their Mexican dishes. But unfortunately, I think those 2 things should be kept far...far away. It's not a bad place at all, but the food is really what has caused me to give a so so review. They have some good specials during happy hour, so take advantage of those deals and save your dinner for some place a little more authentic.

What a great place for a happy hour! I came here in the afternoon on Friday after work to meet up with an old friend from out of town and suggested this place as it had always seemed lively. That it was as when we arrived, there was very limited seating - tough break for us - but good sign overall. We managed to snag a spot at the bar where we were instantly greeted by a very friendly bartender. He informed us that we had 1 minute until happy hour was over but graciously waited for us to order. My friend got a chop chop salad while I ordered the chicken quesadillas. Hope for just a light snack, I was surprised when I received an almost full meal-sized portion with giant chunks of chicken. And they were GOOD. They had fresh salsa, guac, and sour cream with a twist. Loved everything about it! For $4, you can't beat it! I don't know how dinner is but I will definitely be back for happy hour!

I never come here unless I'm specifically looking for a place in Mill Creek as it is quite far for me. However, if you're looking for a more trendy, chill restaurant with a happy hour, where else are you going to go? I mean, after all, you are in Mill Creek. Due to a lack of competition, Azul seems to be a popular spot for the younger crowd. It's a nice-looking restaurant. It's small enough that service seems to be ok. The menu is ok. Nothing real special. They had decent corn and avocado dip, enchiladas and habanero prawns. Ok, but nothing to write home about.

Came here last night with some friends. We were lucky and got a table in the bar area. It took us about 20 minutes to get our drinks and chips/dip - we had to flag down the waitress to get some even though she told us she was going to bring some. I had the chicken enchilada which was HUGE, I could only eat half of it...but maybe that is because I was starving and filled up on so many chips. My house margarita was delicious, the boys thought they were weak which means they were perfect for us lady's. This place was pretty good. I would probably come back here.

Really great brunch. We stopped in after a workout at our gym and loved the eggs benedict with chorizo and also the chorizo chilaquile plate. Their chips and salsa is truly out of this world good. The salsa is fresh and addictive! Make sure to ask for extra for your meal. Huge portions, so be prepared for leftovers. We enjoyed the outside patio on a sunny morning and it was delightful.

Wow! I was very pleased with my visit to Azul. The restaurant and surrounding Town Center is very trendy and cute. Great place to do some shopping, eating, and hanging out after a long day at work. Now on to the food: I had the classic margarita ($7, tasty, not too sweet, good mix of lime juice, pretty strong), chicken quesadilla ($4 happy hour), pork tacos ($4), chips and salsa (charge is $2 during happy hour), and jalapeno poppers ($5). I was very pleased with all of the dishes except the pork tacos which were dry and not very flavorful. The salsa with the chips was quite spicy and very good! The jalapeno poppers were excellent. A little bit different take than what you get at Matador and Peso's but impressive and delicious. The chicken quesadilla was good. It's hard to go wrong with a standard quesadilla! I liked the building and decor a lot! The restaurant was definitely a hip, happening place, especially appealing on a balmy summer evening. The windows/doors were open to an outside seating area that connected to the inside. The bar had great Mexican decorations scattered around. Bartender was helpful without being overbearing. I couldn't help but feel like I was in Peso's or Matador. This of course was not my imagination- the owner is a former partner of Peso's. If you're a fan of Peso's or Matador and find yourself in the North End, Azul is your place!

Came here for a lunch date, and I gotta say, I really like this place. However, I want to give this place 3 and a half stars, so I'll just be nice and round up. The ambiance is great, service was good, and the prices are not bad at all. I ordered the Carribean chicken salad with spicy jerk chicken, and it was really delicious. The chicken was a bit dry but I like spicy and it had a good amount of spiciness. I also love fruit in my salads, so the mango really went well with the greens and the mustard vinaigrette. Their salsa was really delicious as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Sadly, this place is too far for me so I'm probably not coming here again, but it's a great place for lunch.

My husband and I go in for hh about 1 a week, if not more. Food is great but the service is terrible. We both work in a restaurant so we understand if its busy that it may take a little longer, but shouldn't be everytime. And for the most part they aren't very friendly. If we didn't love the food, we would never come back..

This was my second visit. Friendly service good food, fine atmosphere. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. The portion was slightly larger than I would normally like it but the bread was very light and the flavor sealed the deal. Any dish that has the side option with fries I would request anything other than fries. (That should be a no brainer given the genre of food).

The food deserves 5 stars, the service deserves 3 or 4. If you can put up with servers who act like they would rather be anywhere else than working at this restaurant, you'll be rewarded with amazingly delicious Mexican food. Happy Hour is the best, imo, because you can sample a lot of menu items without having to spend as much as the regular dinners cost. Definitely try their carne asada tacos and chicken tacos...two of my favorite menu items. Their Sangria is really good and they don't go light on the alcohol. Their salsa has to be some of the best in the PNW. Give it a try, it's worth the wait and subpar service.

We arrived after driving from Portland and relied on our hosts for a restaurant recommendation. Azul's is well located, popular, and crowded. We dined on the patio because the late July weather was perfect. We whiled away a 25-minute wait for a table with margaritas or Coronas. Once seated, service was prompt and attentive. Dinner for four with cocktails or beer was $25-30 each (about $118+). We enjoyed different dishes - all praiseworthy. The salsa was great! Carne asada, chicken tacos, fish tacos, something with shrimp, all very tasty. Noting the touch-and-go landings of many lounge patrons in their 20s-30s-40s, it appears to be a popular watering hole (and meat market). We enjoyed our dinners and I'd recommend Azul's to others. I'd also recommend the happy hours and appetizers!

"If you are looking for the Pesos of the burbs, look no further. Mill Creek's hottest spot is azul. This place has everything; tequila, hopscotch, beach balls, and human fanny packs." So Im missing Stefon a bit, anyway...I recently graduated from late night/early morning blurs at Pesos and moved to Mill Creek. Well Azul is very similar to Pesos. Great place for happy hour or brunch with a friend. Salsa is seriously amazing and I often find myself licking it off my chip and going in for a double dip...shhhhh.... With that said, the happy hour food is all pretty tasty. Staff is hit or miss. Alexa in the bar is attentive and friendly and the bartenders are great, but some of the other servers leave their diners hanging for too long. At about 11pm on weekends, Azul turns into a hookup joint. If you are into watching overly spray tanned guys drenched in Drakkar use lame pick up lines on suburbanite ladies in bedazzled jeans, you should definitely stay. Otherwise, escape before the clock tolls midnight or you may be the Affliction clad gents' next victim.

A group of us came for HH and there are no specials on the drinks? That got people grumpy, but there were some deals on the food. Thinking the dishes would be tiny, I ordered the calamari (meh) and the habenero shrimp. The shrimp came on a bed of rice, and along with a couple of beers, was really a meal. Service was quick, although not the most friendly. I can see why people did not rate the staff all the highly. The bar was packed early and the dining room finally filled in later in the night. It is still really noisy and I could not hear my friends at the other end of the table.

Azul has always been one of my favorite places to eat ever since it opened. There's always a host or hostess to greet you at the door when you walk in. There's always water and chips and salsa brought out right after you sit down. The mixed drinks are pretty strong in my opinion, and I normally can only have one. Maybe 2 if I want to get really happy, and talkative. So if you have a blind date going on bring her here and make sure you order her a couple mixed drinks. ;P I've read some reviews about people not liking the food much. But I LOVE the food here. The crispy calamari appetizer is really good, they come out crunchy with jalapenos and the best dipping sauce I've ever had with calamari. I LOVE the Jamaican Jerk Pork Chops. So delish!! It comes with a side of mashed potatoes and string beans. The string beans are cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes are a great offset to the spiciness of the pork. Make sure you order the Jerk sauce on the side, otherwise you won't be able to have more than a few bites and be sniffling the whole time. It's sooo good though, I promise you. The waitress always warns me when I order how spicy it is, so be prepared for the warning when you order. If you come after 10 they have happy hour and the menu is really good, they also turn up the music to make it a more "late night" atmosphere. It's pretty cool minus the always looking for a fight, spending daddy's money, spiky haired, tight nordstrom t-shirt, designer jeans wearing kinda guys posted at the bar up front looking for the perfect trophy girlfriend/wife. If you've been to Mill Creek on a Friday or Saturday night you'll know what I'm talking about. I would've given them a 5 star review if the wait staff service wasn't so off and on, some days it's great, others it's horrible. Oh, and if you come for dinner make sure it's before 6 or after 8 it gets crazy packed between those times. Still love my pork chops though! :)

Nice place for enjoying good food and booze with outdoor seating in Town Center. I had the St Thomas coconut breaded fried shrimp, came with Spanish rice and string bean fi vegetble. Delicious salsa with chips are complimentary. With many choices of draft beer, the meal was almost perfect.

Good food and great people. Happy hour here is the best, and you cannot go wrong with the fish tacos and beef bites. I have been going here for many years and overall very happy with the food and staff. Sunday morning breakfast is a good deal as well, but I have never had the best of luck with service on Sunday mornings. The biggest thing I believe that's missing here is wifi, and maybe some interesting specials, something different every now and then on the menu would be nice.

I have to admit, that for what it is, I a little surprised that Azul isn't getting better ratings....*especially* since sometimes you fellow Yelpers will give even Applebees 3 or 4 stars. I generally reserve 5 stars for over-the-top-and-one-of-my-top-ten places, and while I would not go that far with Azul, it's one of 3 or 4 places in Town Center that really have it going on. I think I'd probably give it 3.5 stars, really...but since that isn't an option, 4 stars will suffice. Their salsa is VERY tasty. I usually judge a Mexican or Southwestern place on the salsa factor alone. It's NOT good on a date, however, as your breath will be rank after eating it....and it will remain so well into the next day. Items I really enjoy: Chicken tacos (Stewed & Shredded chicken, nice and fresh, huge portions) are my tried & true - Chicken or shrimp enchiladas, although they have just a bit too much cheese IMO - the Habanero Prawns are excellent and super spicy, and the Carne Asade salad is a nice choice, and again, huge portions. Drinks are good - Happy hour is the best in MC. What I find lacking a bit is the service, but I cut them some slack in the evening time because it's a popular place. In the daytime, I've have had the same waitress several times, and she seems unenthusiastic, bored, and let's face it: I've had better conversations with a parked car. Trying to get guidance from her in regards to what to order is like pulling teeth. She tends to disappear for a while as your drinks run empty... If you are looking for Mexican food, this is not your place. It's difficult to describe and it is a very unique place, but I suppose Southwest would be a fairly good start. They have very fresh tasting food, atypical in nature (as in Cuban black beans as opposed to refried Pintos), and I have thoroughly enjoyed everything I've tried there, as have the people I've gone with. I can tell that someone takes a lot of pride in this place and a lot of thought has gone into the recipes they prepare. Prices seem maybe a buck or two on the steep side, but they make up for it with the quality and serving size. Ambiance is pleasant, dark, relaxing, and good to take a date or out of town visitors. Along with Kafe Neo and Clay Pit, it's a solid choice in the Town Center and North end.

Poor customer service. They were unclear about their happy hour policy and we had someone under 21 with us. Only options were to move to the dining area (2 feet over) and pay full price, or ask the under 21 person to leave. We all left instead. Not a good experience.

Went for happy hour Their nachos are pretty good, but I had them add several extra toppings because each chip needs a little lovins, but there still wasn't enough to go around. They were a delight as far as happy hour food goes...just not evenly proportioned. Maybe just ask them to keep going until you can no longer see any chips at all? Fish tacos had waaaay too much crema on them. Their regular chips and salsa are yummy too though. Not the worst place in the world...not the greatest. Still..really cheap happy hour and its not entirely bad for you. Win? I guess so..

    * Happy Hour Review * We went after work for a "team building" get-together. I will say that it was the best chips and salsa I've eaten in this state. We shared bunch of different appetizers off the HH menu, the chicken nachos and calamari were a hit. -1 star for no drink specials -1 star for very few Mexican beers. I thought it was a Mexican restaurant?? I'll be back to try dinner if I happen to be in the area.

Very trendy place. I went on a weekend night with friends and it was ridiculously busy. Service was alright, but that may have been just because it was so busy. Pricey food, but decent. Seems like it may be a better place for happy hour, or just to grab drinks.

Best brunch in the area, hands down. Their chicken fried steak with jalapeno corn gravy is the best chicken fried steak I've had in 40+ years on this planet. Service is usually good, the portions are generous, and the salsa they serve with the complimentary basket of chips is chunky, tasty, and blows the salsas at places like La Palmera and Azteca out of the water. Definitely more Mexican fusion than "authentic" Mexican, but definitely good.

Ok, the food may be good, but the poor service is unacceptable. I was with a group of about 16 people for a going away party and we were really in small groups of 3 (for the tab). If we needed refills we had to get the waiter and then when she brought the check we asked her to break it up and she said no, then we tried to give her individual cards for certain items and she refused and said we needed to figure it out and call her when we were ready. It was the worst experience of my life.

Well thanks for seating me in front of chips and salsa. Those were delicious. Had you actually came and took our order perhaps we would have had some food too. Great atmosphere, good food and service. But let's talk about Happy Hour....3-6 and 10- midnight. TEN? Really?? And only A DOLLAR off drinks. Basically there is no Happy Hour....

During my first outing around the Mill Creek Town Center, a friend and I decided to stop by Azul to see what kind of night scene it offered. We weren't expecting more than just a relaxed bar to have a few drinks and unwind. Where Azul shines is in it's presentation. While it's not the biggest place, it's a nice look and feel. But, don't sit in the booths. Those booths are rock hard and highly uncomfortable. It's just a wooden plank. A bit of a nit pick, but, hey, I like to be comfortable when I drink a brew with a friend. The Azul's Bar is insanely large...for the employees. The first thing I mentioned to my friend was how small our seating area was (where our backs were only a few feet away from the tables), but the bartenders had ALOT of room. Maybe we went on a non-busy night (Saturday?), but why do they need that much room? Pros: - A nice bar for a relaxed night with your significant other or a friend. - Very nice presentation, sets the scene for a serene night. - Location is nice. The area is beautiful, and there's room to hop to a few other places. Cons: - If you're a person looking for a "wild bar night", don't go here. This is definitely catered to the calmer crowds. Not a bad thing, but worth noting. - Bar is unreasonably tiny, where the bartenders areas are very spacious. - Hard Seats in the Booths - I recommend a table or a bar seat.

Only been here for HH food which is pretty good, nothing extraordinary. I'd actually come here more often if the service was better, but aside from one waitress who we get once in awhile, the rest of the servers are slow to non-existent.

This is a great happy hour place, but I've also had lunch and dinner here as well. Pretty much everything on the menu is tasty. The staff has always been great, and the atmosphere is pretty nice. I love their Chipotle Beef Bites. It's the best appetizer on their menu. Also try the Ribeye.

Had a friend talk this place up, so decided to go there last night... NOPE!!! Walked in and went to the bathroom while my girlfriend waited to be seated. She was seated right away, and as I came out they dropped off the water, salsa, and chips. That was the last time that we say anyone walked near or by our table. We checked out the menu and figured out what we both wanted, ate our chips and salsa... NO ONE came to take our order. Kept waiting... Waiting... Waiting... Ate all our chips and salsa, I drank two glasses of water... Then after 30 minutes of waiting we decided to leave.

Super disappointed in Azuls. No where do they say that after 10 that their dining room turns into a full bar. We were not able to eat and had to leave and go somewhere else....I will not be back! They need a bouncer at the door let people know that! Wait staff was extremely rude as well!

I've been here for lunch a few times and one happy hour. The happy hour is a good deal and I really enjoyed the bbq pork and avocado-corn guacamole. My mojito tasted a touch watery. Service was good even during a very busy happy hour.

I love this place. The wait staff are very nice and friendly and food is always awesome. If you are there during happy hour 3-6, 10-midnight, you will find great deals on delicious dishes. These are the regular menu items for $3-$6. I totally pigged out and left fat and happy. I will be back soon. Maybe by this time next month I'll be a regular here.

Limp food and service. The food was mediocre and the service was worse. Perhaps this is a better place to get a drink, appetizers, and mingle.

Service is very poor and when we went for a friends birthday the server actually told us that anyone underage needed to leave immediately despite us being in the dinning hall and not the bar. He was very rude the remaining dinner. If you want better service try their sister restaurant Indigo.

Complete disappointment, unless you enjoy canned or frozen food served to you at a huge mark-up. Their menu is designed for the happy hour crowd. I'm not convinced there's any actual cooking going on here, just re-warming, re-heating, and folding. It is, however, a great magnet for people with no real taste or desire for good food. So in that regard it's successful. Skp Azul and go find a more legitimate Mexican/Southwest kitchen.

The food at Azul is definitely very good, and comes in pretty huge portion sizes. My side salad was served on a plate almost as large as the one my enchiladas were served on. My friend Aaron E. and I have decided that their salsa has crack in it because it's so addictive. Another perk is before 2 p.m. on the weekends you can order from either the brunch or lunch menu. Their appetizers for lunch option seems like a great deal, though I didn't try that. And all of the servers there are good looking, if that matters to you. :) There was a wide age range represented in customers there for weekend lunch, including young kids. Azul has a noticeable lack of vegetarian options. You can get a vegetarian meal there, but you probably only have five or so choices on the whole menu, most of which seem to be in the enchilada category. Choices are better for the brunch menu and if you eat seafood. I also don't recommend Azul if you're especially sensitive to spicy food; even their milder options like the fish enchiladas with a white sauce have a bit of a kick to them. Maybe the more hardcore American dishes like Caesar salad are not spicy at all. Main reason it's not five stars is I thought the food, atmosphere, and location (if you're coming from Seattle) were not particularly spectacular for the price, about 16 dollars a person before drinks. Definitely a very delicious restaurant, though. I didn't have drinks there, but they have good selection. Aaron E. says the Bloody Mary is just okay, as opposed to great like everything else he's tried there.

So of course the best thing about Mexican restaurants are the free chips and salsa. But sometimes I don't want to be limited to a strictly Mexican menu. Well the best thing about Azul is that they serve chips and salsa while offering an assortment of Mexican, Latin, and Caribbean inspired fair in a space that has a swanky lounge feel. The bar even looks, dare I say, trendy? Wow, this is not something you normally find in Snohomish county. The service we received at Azul's was top notch. The hostess was friendly and took our names quickly. The place was packed and it was obvious that there would be a wait. It ended up being about 15 minutes, but after we were seated we received a large carafe of ice water and a big basket of blue and white corn chips with an extra large dish of salsa. The salsa was really spicy and had fire roasted chiles and fresh cilantro. Our waitress replenished our salsa as soon as it got low without us having to ask. We split the Azul burger and the Caribbean pork sandwich. The burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. It was sandwiched between not too chewy ciabatta bread and cooked to a perfect medium. It was deliciously different than most burgers, as it was topped with bacon, provolone, roasted Anaheim chile, and chipotle mayo. It had a great grilled flavor and the meat was of high quality. The Caribbean pork sandwich has marinated pork loin, cilantro, pickled jalapenos, and caramelized onions. The pickled jalapenos gave the sandwich a kick, without being too hot. The sandwich was Paseo "esque," but as good. Sorry Azul!! It was really good though. Both sandwiches came with choice of side salad or fries. The fries were shoe string fries that were really perfect. Each dish also came with extra chipotle dipping sauce for the sandwich and/or fries. The yummy mayo based sauce is sweet with a smoky chipotle flavor. The side salad was made with mixed greens, onions, tomato and cojita cheese. It was pretty good and a good sized portion. Overall the best thing about is the value. I think for the combination of price, ambiance, and taste, it's really unbeatable. Our dinner came to only $29, and it included a pop and a beer!! The food was really good, but not of fine dining caliber of course. Azul's wine and beer list was also really fairly priced. I recall seeing a Spanish sparkling wine on the list for only $6.50. I'm going to try that next time. Two big thumbs up for Azul's; my boyfriend can't quit raving about it.

Happy hour food is wonderful. Their house chips and salsa for a few bucks are well worth it. The salads are also delicious. Drink prices even during HH aren't that exciting and I would not recommend coming here outside of HH, at that point its just another mildly expensive restaurant.

Like Mexican Food? Like Happy Hour? Then you have found your spot. Azul serves a good selection of food, and it's all very tasty. That said, get here for Happy Hour!! It's a really great spot to come after work and have a few items and a martini or two. They also run their Happy Hour late night until 1am, so if you have been drinking, it's a great place to meet people and sober up!!

Arrived at 4:30 pm today to get a couple orders to go and have a beer and chips while I wait. If it were not for the obligation of return home with items from their menu, I would never sat and be ignored for as long as I did. I was sitting a a table in the bar area. 2 customers at the bar. Bartender's job must be stand there with his hands in his pockets and talk to a female customer. More employs in the buliding than customers. Several walked by never said a word to me. Finally a gal brought me some water. I told her I wanted a beer. She said a server would tale my order, but no server came. After another delay water gal came by again, I asked her in loud voice with an iritated tone. "What is the secret to get a server?" Server came soon after. Ordered a Widmer Hef. she puts the order into the computer, bartender to busy still too playing "pocket pool" to pour the beer. Beer gets served place the order to go. Beer doesn't taste like Widmer Bro. I look the menu over it is defiinetly not anything else on the menu, hadn't had one in awhile figured must be me. To go food comes with the check, Printed right on the check Lazy Boy Hef. No wonder it didn't taste right. Take one last look over a the bar all stools ocuppied bartener stand in same place a cocktail in each hand talking to same female customer, while customers at bar glaring at him. Obviously mismanaged. employs in need of training or firing.

HAPPY HOUR makes me happy. The prices are good, and you get pretty big portions. I like the beef bites, calamari, and chicken nachos (huge by the way). 4 stars not 5 because the service is not great. They seem unhappy, dont smile, etc. Honestly, when I come here, I come here to be left alone with my husband to have cheap food, so I could care-a-less about the lack of conversation with the servers. Sometimes I just wish they looked happier.

My fave place for the BEST Carne Asada Salad...$14.99 for dinner but lunch is $11.99. Be sure to hit happy hour 3-6pm late night starts at 10pm. Staff is so welcoming - love the service! We've tried all the happy hour menu items - I like spicy so Bacon wrapped Jalepenos are fab, fish tacos- if you are cold try the Pollo Caldo! Finish dinner/ happy hour or WHATEVER with the brownie sundae ( if you are nice and ask for extra carmel sauce I bet they will give you a little more)!

Restaurant n Lounge? where is the friggin' lounge area ... i didn't see one! Or maybe I should've wandered beyond the bar area. Anyhow, we got there around 9:30pm and the waitress brought us water. 5min. she asked what we wanted to drink, and usually 5min. after, she'd ask what we want to eat, right? WRONG! I spent the next 15min. sipping my beer and trying to flag her down. So, I assume that she's assuming that we are the cheap Mofo's that sit and wait until happy hour so they can order from the menu. WTF, just 'cuz I don't wear a collar shirt and set my phone on the table ... I'm too cheap to order from the regular menu?! finally, I flagged her down by bumping into another waitress w/ food so she'd drop the plate in her left hand in hopes of stirring a huge commotion. It worked! but i wasn't the one that bumped into the waitress, damn you fat man that doesn't watch where you're backing that huge ass up as you get up outta your seat. Anyhow, I asked for a menu and placed an appetizer order ...to send a message that .. I'm not the friggin' cheap ass patrons she normally gets. She got the message and was prompt after that. Food: Bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers: thought it would be like traditional poppers w/ bacon ... everything is better w/ bacon, Am I right? Wrong again, damn you Azul! chicken nachos: this was actually pretty good since they piled on the chicken and weren't greedy w/ the guac n sour cream. wish the salsa was spicier but this is for the white ppl palette :) chipotle beef bites: Meat was cooked perfectly, medium rare and it was on a bed of sprouts? whoever dreamed up that dish must've just got outta culinary school because ... it doesn't pair well. Habanero prawns: Ok, restaurants need to stop calling shit that have NO spices in them whatsoever, Habanero! this dish would've been pretty good ... if they just added cheap pepper flakes you get from pizza hut. Azul burger: cooked perfect, medium. shows that the cook knows how beef should be cooked. the fries were good but need special seasoning or some salt. I didn't like the sweet aoili thing they made for the burger. it tasted like pureed sweet potatoes w/ ranch dressing. Fusion here is bleh! need to review their menu.

If you read some of the reviews, you'd get the impression that the food is bland - but we didn't find it so. The fresh chips are great with the spicy salsa, and we started with the avocado & roasted corn dip. Awesome. Perfectly ripe avocados, crunchy corn and quite a bit of it. I had the Ahi tuna burrito - a bit too much of the tortilla, but the insides were good. Even better was the verde sauce that smothered it. My other table mates were pleased with their dishes - Carnitas, blackened fish tacos and the biggest chicken burger we've ever seen. The only thing I'd complain about is that their drinks aren't all that strong. I'm not looking to get rip roaring drunk, but because the drinks seemed to lack substance we easily kept ordering more; at $7.50 a glass. Great business model for Azul, but I wouldn't have even mentioned it if two drinks were enough. However on a bright note, getting a drink called Chumknuckle that was pretty tasty sort of made up for it. I'd go back.

Some ratings are so obtuse....who goes to Azul for salad?? Why do fugly women always compain about how rude hot waitress are?? We ate at Azul tonight. As many have pointed out, the chips are fresh and very good. The salsa has great flavor. For dinner, my wife had enchalada verde and I had carnitas. Both were interesting and very good. The carnitas was tender and had a great south-american flavor. It was not at all greasy (as carnitas can sometimes be). The enchalada verde had a great flavor of roasted peppers. It is spicy, so it isn't for everyone. The black beans and rice were both done very well. Good flavor and properly cooked. Our waitress (incidentally a hot young blonde) was terrific and attentive. Luckily, my wife is secure so I don't have to pretend that she was rude..... I had no complaints about Azul. I'll be back.

Spent a rainy Sunday afternoon here drinking margaritas with friends. It was most enjoyable. We ordered the Chipotle Beef Bites, the Jalapeno Poppers and the Spicy Calamari. All of them were amazing. The Poppers were fresh jalapenos, stuffed with an amazing flavorful messy filling and then wrapped with bacon. YUM! Served with a tasty dipping sauce. Amongst the calamari were deep fried jalapeno rings, what could be more fabulous?! The margaritas were good, but smallish and a bit on the spendy side. $9! I compare all margaritas to the monstrous ones I get at Taqueria Guaymas for $8.95. Great Chips and Salsa. Amazing bar design! Azul also serves a very tasty breakfast which has some great authentic Mexican dishes. All in all, an enjoyable destination.

This is one of my favorites hands down! Good service very nice atmosphere.. the food is soooo good here! happy hour is such a great deal, plus there drinks are on point. I haven't had anything here that I wouldn't recommend. (There fish tacos are so good) Its a great place for date night, hang out, or a celebration... I had my 30th Birthday dinner here... So nice. The only downfall is they don't take reservations...

This place has amazing late night happy hour. NIghtly happy hour is from 10 to midnight. No drink specials, but their food menu is amazing. The chicken nachos are huge and the pork tacos are tender and flavorful. The have great local beers on tap and I personally love the top shelf margarita, because it's served in a tall glass and its not too sweet.

The hubs and I were recently on vacation in Seattle and made plans with some friends to meet here for dinner. I've been hearing from quite a few girlfriends how AMAZING the food at Azul's is so we were excited to try it out. Located in Mill Creek Town Center, the restaurant is centrally located within the center. We were able to get upfront parking which was a plus and entered Azul's to be greeted by a super sweet and friendly hostess. She and I chatted while my husband stepped outside to take a call. I was really impressed by her upbeat, positive attitude and general excitement about not only her position as hostess but the company she worked for. When my husband returned, we were seated promptly. (NOTE: if you have a large group, at least half of your party needs to be present before they will seat you) Once seated, our group started to arrive ( I was able to snag a table upfront because I was PG and STARVING! I think the sweet hostess took pity on me) As for the food...it was phenomenal! Living in AZ we are used to greasy, Mexican food that leaves much to be desired. We started with chips and the BEST salsa that I've ever had in my life! It had just the right ingredients and consistency to make it a winner with ALL of the people in our party. We also tried the corn and guacamole absolutely fresh and delicious! My husband ordered the carne asada which he said was beyond delicious! I enjoyed two chicken tacos (soft tacos, not hard) with rice, black beans; very delicious but I will try something more exciting next time. Last but not least, the ambiance of the restaurant was exceptional. Although it is very loud when they have a packed restaurant, the candlelight and lighting set the mood for a relaxing, delicious meal. I can't wait to return to Seattle next spring and enjoy more of their delicious fare....and a Margarita to boot since I will no longer be pregnant! :)

NOTE: This review is for Happy Hour only. It's hard to pass judgment of a place on that alone and since I've never dined NON Happy Hour here, I guess this is only fair. The menu is varied and very good (the fish tacos are thebomb.com ). The prices are very decent the the portions are large, I love a place that doesn't charge too much for good time. You can find your usual drinks here though I knock points off for no longer carrying my favorite brew that I usually get (longboard) and for the one (and only) time I will ever get a double Kettel on the rocks, I can understand a bartender screwing up a Manhattan or a Long Island Icex tea... But a double Kettel? It's two parts Kettel One over ice! How is that so hard? The wait staff is pretty decent and experiences are hit or miss, some good some bad. But overall, a solid three for Happy Hour. Food is great but until the bar staff gets better, a three is all ya get.

Ambiance. It has a trendy upscale Seattle feel to it, but conveniently located in Mill Creek Town Center. The food also has the Seattle feel to it in the pricing. I can't say there is anything I can't live without that I've had there. The food isn't bad, but nothing to rave about. The wait staff is usually quite friendly and efficient. The bartenders get the job done but not as friendly as the servers. The crowd is generally the 20-30 somethings with the occasional smattering of a few 40+'s. No real events like trivia night, and evening happy hour doesn't start until 10:00pm. Boston's, down the block, starts at 9 as does La Palmera located in the same vicinity.

This past week I decided Azul deserved 5 stars.... based on their salsa alone! I dreamed and fantasized about the salsa all week. Seriously, SO GOOD! So good that I dragged my mom all the way up here just for the salsa! So worth it! The salsa (of course) was heavenly! The chips were freshly fried and lightly salted. I devoured over two baskets of them by myself! My mom agreed that it was some of the best salsa she'd ever had. Epic win! While I thought their mimosas were divine during visit #1 I decided to go with a margarita (because who doesn't love drinking tequila at 11 am on a Sunday?) which was boozy (seriously surprised about how strong it was), citrusy.... pretty much flawless. You could tell it was made from scratch and the price really couldn't have been beat! For food I decided to go with the Chilaquiles Verdes which were excellent. The portion was generous and it came with two huge chorizo sausage patties. While I initially thought the chorizo was a little odd in texture, I thought it was divine today. My mom was indecisive so I made her order the migas. And I ate a lot of them. And they were delicious. Winner. We decided to go all out and order Puddin Cake for dessert. Rich, chocolatey, warm, gooey..... great way of ending our meal! I've been to Azul twice in two weeks. Definitely a trend I'd like to keep up. Delicious!

Very busy place but the food and service was good. I had the Carne Asada sandwich with the skinny fries and both were very tasty. This place seems to be a popular hang out spot for the locals so it gets very busy.

I'm pretty picky about my Mexican food, and I'll preface this by saying that if you're expecting true Mexican food, this isn't the place. It's a fusion restaurant and yes, it is pretty damn good. They've got some killer enchilada dishes and the happy hour specials are good. It's right about where they should be charging for the quality and type of food you're getting, too. The bar area is pretty nice and well-kept too and they have a good selection of tequilas and other mixed drinks. The crowd is pretty much all hipsters, so expect a healthy dose of black-framed non-prescription glasses, untucked dress shirts and people pretending to know a lot more about wine than they actually do. Not that I'm one to talk, but I know better than to even attempt to talk wine in a public setting. The service is actually halfway-decent. Don't expect a ton of attention but the food comes fairly quickly and you can get drinks refilled without having to ask. Go to place in the area for decent food and a good night out.

Seems like Yelpers give Azul mixed reviews, but there's nothing mixed about my opinion. While it's busier than a watering hole during a drought on weekends, the food makes it worth it. Don't expect a quiet brunch experience on Saturday or Sunday, you won't get it here. The after-church crowd really seems to take the place over, but the chips and salsa they toss on your table while you peruse the menu is oh. so. good. I consider myself to be a connoisseur of chips and salsa, well, mostly just the salsa portion of the duo, and I give this salsa alone five full stars. So flavorful, just the right amount of spice, and the consistency is great. I had delicious pancakes, thick sliced bacon and eggs, and the best friend had her staple eggs benedict. Everything was served quickly and with a smile. Our water was kept full, and our waitress didn't seem to get huffy when she had to come back three times before we were finally ready to order. A+ for that.

Azul's oh how I love your spicy salsa! This has to be what keeps me coming back. I can never make it this good at home and I have tried. The place has a nice decor and vibe to it. They also have a awesome happy hour! (minus having to pay for the salsa and chips, its free during regular hours) The Azul burger and fish tacos are so good. However, I have ordered the calamari and it can be a hit or miss. Sometimes a bit soggy sometime just right. The dipping sauce is always good though (spicy). My husband always insist on eating the jalapenos that comes with it. (why he tortures himself I do not know) Overall: a good place to go and get dinner in Mill Creek Oh yeah their drinks are good too! I like the lemon drop, but I like it sweet. Also my friend gave me an amazing idea of just buying there salsa to go. I'm always in the town center for something and this would be a perfect snack. How did I not think of this sooner!

Would have liked to have given Azul 3.5 stars. The carne asada, salsa and salads make this place a must for any lady wishing to follow a low carb diet. I do find their rice a real mystery. Most south west restaurants positioning themselves as up-scale do not serve rice that you can get in the isle at Safeway. I would expect white rice with cilantro. Just totally baffled by the rice, they serve black beans, not re-fried so the pairing is off. The service is spotty, if you go in when its busy, its excellent. If its not, it seems the wait staff is more interested in talking to each other than service. And yes, a great happy hour

The food is tasty. Not perfect, but tasty. If it was only about the restaurant, it would get 3 stars. However, I'm pretty tempted to call this my favorite happy hour next to Japonessa's downtown. The portions are huge for what you get. Chicken tacos are 4 bucks, and surprisingly large. They're not like street tacos or anything, small corn-wrapped ones like you would expect for 4 bucks. These are pretty big. If it's two of you and you get two orders of tacos and some chips and salsa (which is 2 bucks, but come on, it happy hour) it still comes out to 10 bucks... before the drinks. Which is the one downside, being that there's a 3 dollar per person minimum on drinks. But it doesn't have to be alcohol, so for the price and the amount of food you get it's a solid deal. Who doesn't get at least one drink at happy hour anyway? I can't remember the well, draft or wine prices, but they are discounted. Service is hit or miss. The last time I went there she did not seem happy to see us. But then again I'm a slob wherever I go, and I look young to boot.

I really like this place. It's always been really delicious and I almost feel like it's vaguely healthy. I typically get the chicken tacos, and they are awesome. The food is very filling too, but I think that might be an illusion since usually you fill up on chips and salsa before your food even comes. Lastly, if you are a chocolate lover you should definitely give the brownie a la mode a try. It's a mexican brownie I guess and has almost a mousse sort of texture, but it's very rich. And tasty.

Horrible customer service or should I say none. Were told it would take 45 minutes to be seated with no room available to stand inside the restaurant, we decided to walk around the shops. We returned within 35 minutes and were told our name was already called and was told it would be another 30 minutes. Due to the lack of customer service, I will not give this restaurant my business!

I was kicking and screaming when DH wanted to go here...Seriously?? Mill Creek? that's like halfway to Everett! Boy was I wrong. This place was so cool, tons of young couples and looked like it belonged in the city. We were seated immediately, but still shocked that the palce was packed on a Wed night. salsa, chips, water to start- 2 mins and we had that at our table. I ordered the blackened fish tacos, DH ordered the chicken enchilada. Both were amazing, really as good as it gets.. I have to say, the best Mexican food I have had in Washington state.... You must try it!

I love Azul! It's my 'go to' restaurant when we have people visiting or when we can get out for a meal close to our home. It looks a little too trendy for me or even strictly bar scene, but the restaurant side always seems to attract a wide variety of people. My husband and I have gradually worked our way around the menu, and I haven't been disappointed. Some of the favorites: Papa's Burrito (HUGE); any variety of fajitas; carne asada; pollo caldo; any variety of tacos; creamy shrimp enchiladas. It's all so tasty. In addition to the papa's burrito, most portions are usually too big for me to finish in one sitting. A few negatives: a member of our party ordered the Jamaican Jerk Pork Chops and the spice was a bit much. My husband tried it and also agreed. These guys are adept to eating spicy foods, and in their opinion, it was to a level that didn't complement the meat but detracted from it. I have been in the restaurant on other occasions and have seen people who appeared to do just fine, however; perhaps our experience was on a night when the person in the kitchen was feeling particularly spicy. A friend we went with on another occasion had the carnitas and ended up with what appeared to be food poisoning. She said they were delicious, and I know that isn't a causational relationship, but it just ruined it for me. With so many other options, however, I can comfortably make my rounds with the many other spectacular dishes. The bar selection is nice. Draft beers, wine, and specialty cocktails (for around $7/8) on the menu. I also do like the atmosphere. After you get past the first impression of thinking all you'll find are guys with unbuttoned Friday-night shirts and ladies that are almost too beautiful, you see that it's not the case and the low lighting and candles up the walls are actually pretty cool and relaxing. People come as they are, which I appreciate. In addition to all of the previous positives, my FAVORITE part of Azul is their salsa. I would be quite content to sit down with a bucket of it and consume it all at any given time. I have been faced with the situation of eating possibly too much chips and salsa prior to dinner and have been forced to take the majority of the entree home as leftovers. I'm here to report that it's totally worth it, though. It's really just too good to pass up. The leftovers are all great the same day, so enjoy the free salsa while you can.

Huge fan! Mostly of their happy hour...the food during their happy hour and for the price compared to anything around in the area is unbeatable. The spinach artichoke dip, the chicken quesadilla, chicken tacos, and chop chop salad are AMAZING. Only thing I wish is that the drinks were a little discounted. This is hands down my favorite happy hour spot!

Azul does not take reservations, even for large parties. I second other reviews - the snobbery at Azul amongst employees and the clientele is astronomically high.

After work, there aren't a whole lot of options near my office in Bothell, but Azul works nicely for a happy hour/casual dinner spot. The menu is Americanized Mexican, and the judging from the last 3 visits, it is definitely a hot spot in Mill Creek. The nice modern decor, and lively bar/restaurant scene was a surprise, and adds a star to the rating. I usually drink beer at Mexican joints, so I cannot comment on the weak cocktails. But they had a decent selection on draft including Manny's, so I was happy - One more point here. The happy hour menu is a ridiculous bargain. Had the chicken nachos during happy hour and then during regular hours. Exact same size, but twice the price! Other good choices included the very flavorful beef bites, and a very filling quesadilla. So I appreciate the honesty and the generosity - score one more point. As for entrees, it's a mixed bag. The carne asada was way thick, but very flavorful. The carnitas, however, were very bland, and the presentation was uninspiring. Overall, not sure if I would eat dinner again, but definitely a great place for a happy hour if you are in the area.

This used to be one of our favorite restaurant for my friends and I! The Azul fish tacos used to be our favorites!! But the last three times we went to Azul this year, the fish tacos were not good. Two times were really bland and another time was very salty. Not worth the $14 price... I don't know what happened!! Did they get a new chef??? I don't think we will be back :-/

yummy chipotle beef bites!! I've only had happy hour here and I will definitely come back when I'm in town. The happy hour menu is fairly extensive....avoid quesadillas, mine wasn't prepared very nicely, just mushed together. sangria was to my liking but i don't like mine very strong. service - lackluster. would have been four stars but the bored/slow server brought it down to three...but still a great deal for some late night fare. i love that it's only 10 min from my parents house in suburbia.

Food was good but I could go either way. Would I go back? Yes. Service was slow though. The salsa and chips were great! Portions were small.

Hit this place up on a Wednesday with a friend of mine for happy hour. We got the calamari, pork tacos, and chicken nachos. The calamari was surprisingly good for happy hour fare, and the nachos and tacos, also descent (especially for happy hour prices). The service was pretty good. We walked away full and with little money spent. Most likely be back here for another happy hour outing...

Great happy hour. Great food. Not totally sold on the brunch, but It is good. I only eat seafood and they have a decent selection of seafood. They have the best chips and salsa around. Love it.

They need a bigger area BUT the food is amazing, atmosphere awesome and prices are good. Usually the service is really good. Make sure to come early on a Friday or Saturday since they get VERY busy...the reason is this place is awesome:)

The reason why Azul gets 3 stars and not 1 star is because my most recent experience at Azul's. The first time was an amazing dinner-5 stars all the way, I had a delish steak- the kind you dream of at night and wake up heartbroken because it was only a dream. This time I went with my sister in law and brother during lunch, the prices were nice and affordable and I was really excited to eat there again. I love fish tacos, and I thought- hey this is a nice place the fish tacos have got to be awesome. Sadly, they were NOT. In fact they were undercooked, and soggy. But being the mini heifer I am, I finished my meal- I was not gonna waste my food. I really shouldn't of finished it because I got sick....really, really sick. For 2 days my stomach was jacked up and I was cursing my luck & stupidity. I still like Azul, they make good drinks and usually the food is amazing, but I'm sorta scared of going back. I sure as hell won't order the fish taco this time.

I was very surprised at how yummy the food was at this restaurant. My husband and I were originally looking for some Sushi in the area but stumbled upon Azul. Although the drinks were about the same price as most other restaurants like Azul, they were unique and delicious! My husband is very picky when it comes to salsa but what they put on the table was actually very tasty. I ordered the blackened fish tacos and I was blown away! I ate every last bite. Not too soggy, not too "blackened", but just right! Although I live in Marysville I have already gone back to Azul a second time. I highly recommend it for the Mexican food lover who likes a little variety in their dishes.

Great food. I especially enjoy the jerk chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. Friendly service, and you cant beat the unlimited tortilla chips. One odd thing about the restaurant is that they wont split your food for you. My wife and I spit a sandwich, and they made us cut it ourself, and move the fries onto another plate. I just find that odd.

There was a BUG in my drink!!!!! I told them to change but they didn't even say sorry and of course they charged us for that drink. The manager saw a BUG in my drink, but didn't do anything. We ordered the spicy calamari and sandwich, but it wasn't spicy and had no taste. No one came to take our order until we called them. They were so rude and the food wasn't great. My boyfriend and I had baaaad stomachache that night. ....

The only thing on the menu for vegetarians is the House Salad. Not a vegan mind you, a vegetarian. Beans have bacon, rice cooked in chicken stock, as are the vegetables. Every single one of the sauces (verde and red, as well as the pasta sauce) has chicken stock. Finally, after asking the waitress and manager for help, my DH asked the chef to make something vegetarian and was served speghetti in oil with some bell peppers (which were probably cooked in chicken stock)--no spices, no sauce, no garlic, nothing. It was kind of like being served food in a hospital, except without the jello. At one point the manager suggested a burrito, and when my DH reminded her that had bacon in it, she said, oh You're one of those vegetarians. Ummm, what other kind are there? Mind you, he eats eggs, cheese, etc..just no meat (including fish, which is a meat). I have never been to a restaurant that wasn't able to accomodate a vegetarian at all. Even divey cuban places can make rice and beans vegetarian. The only thing I can think of is that EVERYTHING is made well in advance and no actual chefs are on duty to make anything not already prepared. The salsa, however, is amazing.

I love this place! And of course I do, it's the same owner as pesos so I knew the food would be good. I went there for Happy Hour and that happy hour lasted about 4! Great food and good, strong drinks the way I likes it. The roasted corn guacamole was RE-diculous. So damn good. Everything was good. The chips and salsa, the fish tacos. Someone said don't order the pulled pork but I knew they weren't a professional orderer like myself. I went against the suggestion because I had faith. Didn't disappoint. I wish it wasn't so far from me because I would be there all the time!

This is where grown up frat boys bring their wives in an effort to recapture some of that long gone frat boy magic. They took a lot of good ideas from other restaurants in the area, boiled them down and poured a tasteless gravy over the whole mess. The food was fair and the service was good but a little too canned friendly. Decor is strip-mall hip with a splash of Tex Mex. I had the house margarita which was clearly mix sweet. On a positive note, the chips and salsa where above average. Prices are standard for this type of place.

Blah food, blah drinks, blah prices. But the only cot' damn place to go without feeling like a complete towney. Sometimes a Milf hotspot, but othertimes it's girls that you graduated high school with with an extra 15lbs. Sometimes I get the two mixed up. Surprises from both sides of the bar. Where do you get a drink around here? Help yelp!

This restaurant is modern in decor, but a little on the small side. If you go at peak times, expect to wait as they don't take reservations. However, I must say, I've never been annoyed, as the time always passes quickly. Chips and salsa are served when you sit down at the table. The salsa is medium in heat and tasty. They leave a carafe of water with you at the table, which is very convenient. I really like their fish tacos. I'm not a fan of blackened fish, so I always order them just grilled. Their grilled shrimp are delicious, cooked just right and seasoned to perfection. Also, I have to tell you that their black beans are the best I've ever tasted. The service has always been good. I have to mention they do have a child's menu, but don't offer a burger or nuggets.

First of all, I am neither a picky eater nor diffacult to please. I was not happy with Azul for a few reasons... 1. The waitress acted put out generally, sour face, sullen attitude, etc. 2. The fish tacos were very fishy and extremely greasy. To cover up the fishy taste they over "blackened" them. Yuck, yuck, yuck 3. When I went out to my car i had parked right outside the kitchen door, I saw one of the cooks come out the door with one hand scratching under his apron, jerk out a pack of smokes, then (knowing I'm there) start cleaning his teeth with the bill of his hat. Needless to say, now I basically wish i had the cojones enough to throw this mess up and scrub out my insides with bleach water. The name Azul is right, you'll feel blue afterwards.

It is my third time here for lunch with group of people from work. I had Carne Asada salad, and previously I had carne Asada entrée. I have never had better carne Asada then here, and now I am hooked. Service excellent, and it is hard to serve large groups of people. Their salsa is to "die" for. I definitely will be back!!!!!!!

Went to Azul's yesterday. Had a ahi tuna burrito and a margarita. The margarita was good. It was one of those with the ice cubes in it instead of other places that use crushed ice. I'm on the fence between the two styles. I generally prefer the ice cubes, but if it is really hot out the crushed ice is much appreciated. The Ahi tuna burrito was fantastic with the black beans and nice big tuna chunks throughout. The sour cream topping was a treat, it had cilantro, onions and maybe some fresca cheese within. I did ask for a togo container early on because I wanted to keep some of this for the next day. It was too good to eat all in one sitting plus it was one of those ginormous burritos. The staff was very helpful and patient. They were very at tentative to our needs. We did go through the chips and salsa pretty quick. But sure enough before we got to the end of our salsa, we had a fresh bowl of chips and fresh salsa at our table. This is a sure fire do-over.

This is the usual hangout spot for my friends. We come in for the bar and chips/salsa. The bartender is fantastic, and might I add generous! I have not had a drink here that I haven't liked! If you choose to have dinner here you won't be disappointed! The tacos are really tasty and the Fajitas will NOT disappoint! Most of the time I'm here with my best guy friend and we sit at the same table, because Julia is usually working in that section and she is great! She's always in a good mood and remembers us! I can't say enough about Azul! I really love coming here!

Food was very good! I had the carne asada one of my all time favorites. I saw a few people getting appetizers they looked good as well. Good drinks, good food. Cozy restaurant! Not true mexican food...kind of a tex-mex but it was very good. Salsa was good as well

Atmosphere and service are always good but it's pretty expensive for lunch. My favorite items on the menu are the fish tacos and the carne azada salad. The steak on the salad is definitely one of the best around. The only thing I would do differently is add bleu cheese crumbles to the salad. It has bleu cheese dressing but it's not very bleu cheesy!

I like this place. It's nice and clean. It has a good ambiance and you feel comfortable being there. The food is pretty good. Service can be a little slow but they are usually friendly. Good place to meet up with friends and catch up.

Whatever you do... DO NOT GET the Carne Asada Salad. I want them all for me!! Bliss is eating my first bite of Carne from Azul, not kidding! I've visited many Mexican Style Restaurants and have found Azul to serve the best Carne Asada around. The recipe they use is delightful and it's cooked to near perfection. Only once have I had a poorly cooked steak, but this is once out of maybe 40+ times. The atmosphere is great, as it's got a romantic, but upbeat and happening feel. Waits can be long during Happy Hour or your typical dinner times on a Friday night, but usually you can find a spot pretty quickly. The chips and salsa are very tasty. The menu has a great selection of plates and different tastes, so you can't go wrong. They have been very accommodating to any requests that I have for food, which has been wonderful! I'm a picky eater.. They do take the Entertainment Card, so you can get a buy one get one free for Salads and other items. (Surprised I haven't put them out of business on this one... yet) The Service is great and I highly recommend dining here. Just try not to eat too many of the chips before your meal comes, as you won't want to get up after eating.

I've only had the happy hour at Azul, so that's all I can rate on. I found that 90% of the time the waitresses are pretty short and snippy with you. They can't even seem to really carry a smile on their face. Drink purchase is required and there are many happy hour items such as nachos, pulled pork sandwich, fish tacos, etc. The ambiance is great for a night of lounging with some friends... as long as you don't chit chat much with the service people. I think I've only met one nice server there. Azul can get pretty busy.

Salmon Salad love it! Sat next to the new chef and an important looking lady one afternoon and it really paid off. I noticed the lady had a most delicious looking salad in front of her and I told my waitress I want what she's having. The salmon was sliced perfectly on top of a bed of mixed greens with slices of orange rind mixed in. The chef brought me a sample of a blackberry desert that was worthy of another visit to Azul. I have only been to Azul twice, both times not disappointed. The service was top notch. My only complaint is they don't take reservations, I guess they don't have to and it's no mystery why. I guess it's a go to lunch place for me because I'm not waiting in long line for dinner, not in the blustery NW weather.

We might be the only people who've discovered what a GREAT place this is for breakfast. N gets the Chicken Fried Steak with jalapeno corn gravy and I the carnitas. So much more interesting and fulfilling than the run-of-the-mill eggs and bacon one can get at any greasy spoon. The bloody marys are nothing to scoff at, either. Their salsa's great, as are the warm chips. The avocado corn dip is great (even at breakfast) and the service never disappoints. We have yet to have anything to eat that we didn't love and our kiddo is pretty happy with the selection of kid-friendly eats, too. The rice and beans rock! Have a bartender's margarita and the beef bites at happy hour. You won't regret it.

Awesome. Not afraid to use heat, like on the Jerked Pork Chop. The breakfast brunch is also really good. They have regular stuff for the kiddos and great juevos racheros for me. Love it.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. Great ambience, fantastic margaritas and delicious fajitas. A go-to spot for a dinner date or Happy Hour. Parking can get sketchy since they share a lot with LA Fitness, but it's usually worth the frustration.

Azul is yum! Came for brunch and they still gave us chips and salsa (which were fantastic). Prices totally reasonable and food was delicious. I do see a lot of reviews that mention happy hour so I will have to go back for that. I did see the menu and although the drink discounts weren't an outrageous good deal, they were reasonable. I think the food prices are a lot more to rave about. I will definitely go back to Azul.

Went last night for happy hour--wasn't sure what to expect service-wise since many reviews say it sucks. My lady and I walked in, waited for a moment, even walked up to the bar, then when the server was done on the POS, I asked if we just sit anywhere? A bit odd that there wasn't a greeting or any communication. Anyway, we sat down in a booth, it was dim, TV's were going as well as above-average volume on the music. Ordered Ciroc & cran and I chose Ciroc & pineapple. Food was pretty good...people seem to be absolutely RAVING over the salsa. It was good, but I expected a lot more based on the reviews (yet another reminder to not have high expectations for anything, you will appreciate things more) Had chicken caesar salad, fish tacos, chipotle beef tips. The beef tips were very good, as well as the fish tacos. Good experience, nothing out of the ordinary.

Blah. Not gross, just blah. $12 for a really blah salad. I forget the name of it, but it was almost EXACTLY the same as the chop salad my friend ordered, minus the dressing, so it just felt and tasted really cheap. We ordered sangria, too, which tasted like a cheap wine cooler. I'm not 15 anymore, I don't like that crap, and I don't like paying that much for it! Our server Kirsten happened to be one of my old co-workers that day from years ago, and she was super nice and gave great service. The salsa and chips were great, and thank god she kept them coming, because i had to dump it all on my salad just to make it interesting. I don't think I'll come back.

Well, we used to come to this place all the time and sit out on the patio with our very small dog. After putting in our name- with our dog in arms for outside seating and waiting for 20 minutes for a table they told us she could not be on the patio. We could not believe this since we have done it so often and they insisted this was not the case- lets see, walk down the street at any Mill Creek Town Center restaurant and they have pets on the patio. It would not have been a big deal to throw her in the car but it was so warm out that day. They hurried us into making a decision- the asian guy was quite rude about it saying they were going to give our table away if we could not decide... guess what- we decided and walked away to dine at another place that let us sit on the patio with our dog.

We love the carne asada dinner with extra asparagus instead of mashed poataoes at this reastaurant. The meal is so tasty and its a fun environment! Don't forget to try the tasty mojitos! Highly recomend! We've never needed a reservation and always have short waits even on weekends.

My family lives in Auburn and when they come to visit they always want brunch at Azul. The brunch is better than anything else in the area. When I first tasted the chips and salsa I knew good things were in store for my meal here. I was impressed with the fajitas I had! The chicken and veggies were grilled to perfection and they didn't skimp on the toppings. They also make a solid top shelf margarita. It is really ridiculously strong and oh so tasty. Love the atmosphere here and the service was great. If you're in Mill Creek Town Center and looking for a stiff drink and solid food, this is your place.

Maybe it was the awesome weather, but 80 degrees at 6pm, outdoor patio, draft beers... pretty damn good salsa and chips.. that's a winner for me. Great environment, seems like lots of people go to the bar here at night for drinks and food. I had a carne asada sandwich and it was alright.. but the fries and the sauce that came with it was great! i'd go back.... if it weren't in the country.

When they first opened my wife and I would head to Azul have their fresh margaritas and happy hour menu. Now the place is packed, We've been back probably 50 times since it opened and have never been disappointed. I even had brunch there this morning. They did change the salsa menu at some point in the last couple years and the current one is pretty spicy but definitely good.

tasty food, awesome drinks, and the interior is fabulous! A trendy hang out spot for drinks or happy hour. I always recommend this place to anyone looking to eat or drink in mill creek. They have the best salsa ever and believe me I have tried all different kinds and this tops 'em all. I highly recommend the carne asada for dinner, their chicken quesadillas are yum, and lets not forget the weekend brunch! Pretty much anything you order here is good, I've never been disappointed.

This is one of my favorite places at the Mill Creek Town center! I went here with my fiance on a snowy day and we got their Pollo Caldo which was perfect. I've been back a few times just to get that soup, and also their nachos are pretty good.

Last night we went for happy hour with friends for a total of eight in the group. We had drinks off of the happy hour menu as well as wine. We all ordered chop chop salads and we had chicken nachos that feeds at least two and a marinated beef dish that feeds one hungry person. All were very good. For some reason the restaurant wasn't as noisy as it usually is. It was great. Usually the noise level is so high it is difficult to have a conversation...however the food has always been very good. They have a wedge salad with marinated beef that is amazing. The staff is always attentive. It is a great place to go in Mill Creek. It is even better when you can sit outside.

For my friends and I this is the default venue of choice. If we can't think of some other place or we don't want to drive too far, either way Azul serves its purpose. In fact, it serves it very well. It gets crowded most evenings later at night so get there early if you want a table. Its happy hour is frequently in high demand to Mill Creek socialites. Upon further review, there is nothing that particularly stands out about this place. It's certainly a fine choice for a casual gathering of friends and a nice place to visit on a weekday night to break the work-gym-home-sleep-repeat monotony that consumes many of us. The lighting is dark so you can pretend that everyone around you is better looking than you and you're kicking it with rock stars. Or you can pretend everyone is uglier than you and YOU are the rock star. The choice is totally yours, and you can't go too wrong with a place like Azul.

AMAZING NACHOS. I almost always go for the $6 happy hour chicken nachos and their unique $5 sangria, which tastes like candy to me (starburst?) it is fantastic, the service can leave something to be desired, but the food is totally worth it.

Went to Azul after my wife has been heavily hinting for a few weeks. Went on a Tuesday Night. Waited 5-10 minutes for a table, not too bad. Servers were good, not overly friendly. We both had the Wedge salad w/ carne asada and jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon. Salads were good, a bit overpriced but good overall. The salsa from the chips and salsa was an added treat on the salad. The poppers were good as well. Bacon is always a great touch. We definitely will be back again. Great Local eatery tucked into the Mill Creek Town Center...

5 Stars, you see that Yelpers? 5 freakin' Stars!!! This is OUR new spot! Best Happy Hour I've seen in quite some time. I usually hit it up after 10pm on Thursday nights - when I make my drive out to Mill Creek there are only a couple cars on the road - but when I pull into Azul, the place is happening! My husband always complains about how there is no night life after 9pm around here - and this place cures his "LA Transplant" blues. We always recieve great service and our order usually goes something like this: Chips and Salsa - (Best Salsa EVER.) Chicken Soft Tacos - Yummmmmmmmmmmm. Chop Chop Salad - "No Honey, you cannot have a bite, its MINE!" Crab Cakes - We are in Heaven!! We have also tried the fish tacos which are NOT fried, I think they are the bomb.com - along with the Chicken Quesadillas, which are nothing fancy, but always hit the spot! The Silver Patron margaritas are always dead-on perfect, and they have several other yummy drinks that I still need to explore. All in all a great place to get away for some cheap eats, good music, great service and night life with a pulse in Mill Creek!

Their upper-class Mexican cuisine is good enough, and if you can take the heat the Jamaican Jerk Pork Chops are awesome. But what really sets Azul apart is their brunch. Their breakfasts are unique and flavorful, the portions are huge, and it's all really affordable. My only advice to the chef would be to find a more powerful chorizo. Red hot oily Yucatan style chorizo.

Why is it that I always end up here with newest friends I make? Is it some sort of a subconscious test ground to see if this pretty good but not great place is OK enough, and depending on their reaction we can either move up or move down? Well, yes I guess that's it. And probably because it has a nice decor, with character yet relaxed feel. It gets comfortably loud during the dinner with the crowd and sports tv by the bar so no worry about uncomfortable silent moments between new friends. Drinks are pretty good, although on a weak side. Service is non-intrusive, but helpful. And food? Well, as much as I love spicy food, I would stay away from Jamaican jerk pork which nearly caused us to faint in pain, unless of course, you like to swallow fire.

Happy Hour Food and Drinks- LOVE!! I've done dinner here once or twice but the HH menu is where it's at... if you can get a seat. Looking forward to warmer sunny days (but WHEN??) so that the outdoor seating can have my bum in it!

This place is cool. The atmosphere is great and is a great place to go for lunch or dinner. The happy hour food menu is great, 3pm - 6pm!!! Great prices and great taste / value. They don't have drink specials though which is a disappointment. The bar is super crowded in the evenings, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Better dress to impress on those super busy nights.

This place rocks! A little pricey for regular dinner... but they have got an awesome Happy Hour!!!

I'm a huge fan of their chips & salsa and their great happy hour selections. A must order is the "Chipotle Beef Bites" (so flavorful & tender) and their blackened fish tacos or salad. Both the house made sangria & mojitos are very refreshing and the service is quick and friendly. It's a great place to go to after a long day at work for a drink and a quick bite! The decor is pretty cool and the ambience is usually upbeat and fun. Another great thing is that they close until 2am on most nights with HH from 10pm to midnight. Definitely worth a trip!

I have been here once before and have had a good food experience both times. It's a fun place to eat. The complementary chips and salsa are excellent. I got the grilled carne asada salad and loved it. The reason I give it a four star and not five is because out waitress completely disappeared after she brought our food!!! I had to grab another waitress to help us, even with the check :(

My absolute favorite is the Pollo Caldo (mexican chicken soup). Its super affordable - can't beat a giant bowl of soup for less than $8. Add a Chop Chop Salad started and I am in heaven. Its my comfort food. Joint is very busy on Friday/Sat nights in the bar. A majority of the food is a bit over priced and I am usually unlucky with a competant server in the restaurant area. I always get good service in the bar though.

Azul is decent, and they have a few must-try dishes (like the avocado and corn dip and the beef fajitas,) but most of the menu isn't anything special. In fact, it isn't Mexican so much as it is Mexican-American fusion...so, burgers with a Mexican flair, bland fish tacos, etc. However, they are one of the few places in Mill Creek that are open late for dine in or take-out, but during late-night happy hour the menu is greatly reduced.

Well...who could turn out such a great happy hour especially in the Bothell/Mill Creek Area. Happy hour is ridiculously CHEAP!! Fair amount of food for what your paying. I loved the chop chop Salad and the chicken Nachos weren't Bad either. I also ordered the Fish tacos which everyone else didn't like so much but I loved..It wasn't dry and it had the right amount of spices just for a little flair. Its spicy but not overbearing....Fish tacos are hard to get just right, I think they do a pretty good job for the price your paying. Drinks are little pricey..but i guess that's why the food is so cheap during happy hour. I think the Azul lemonade is right compliment during lunch hour.. I mean you cant get drunk ur working..haha. But as far as happy hour I just tried the pomegranate mojito which was a little weak and overpriced..so i just went to beer after that. I loved the Atmosphere..great ambiance but they need to extend out the bar area a little bit, especially if there happy hour is one of there peak hours. but overall its a restaurant you should least try going to.

This place is not really Mexican food. More like a " fresh americanized mex" style that I personally do not prefer. Baja fresh or qdoba tastes better and is less expensive.

Best brunch menu on the weekends, hands down. Carne asada and eggs cooked to order, chicken fried steak with jalepeno corn gravy -- where else in the area can you get that without driving more than ten miles? Yes, dinner can get noisy, and the place gets packed quickly on date nights...but the food's worth it. The patio area has been expanded recently so if you're into the eating outside thing, you have more places to sit. I've had a few lazy servers here but overall I've been pleased with the level of service. Happy hour is a great time to try out their menu; they have some good deals on their appetizers and drinks.

Green beans with bacon bits! yummmmo! I have eaten here so many times and every time it's something better! The only complaint I have (but you will notice it did not effect my rating) is that we sometimes have to wait. Mostly on a Fri/Sat. But the food is so worth it!

    (5)
  • Eden R.

Everything is good here. The food is upscale Mexican. I love the chicken tacos, which I order with shredded chicken (you have to ask for it that way). They use black beans and they keep the chips and salsa coming. The only problem is that it gets really crowded. 7pm on a Friday night is impossible, but 5pm is fine.

  • Elisabeth A.

I love this place! It is open late (1am) every night, they have good cheap happy hour food. I recommend the coconut prawns (I don't even like seafood) and the beef bites. They make good stiff drinks, and the shots are huge. My favorite is the carne asada - it is fabulous and the green beans that come with it are amazing! The atmosphere can be a bit loud but is otherwise fun. The only reason I held back a star was that the prices are a bit high.

  • Arielle G.

You can't go wrong with the happy hour food!! Everything on it is delicious. Love the chop chop salad. Just wish they had better drink prices and maybe a little bit friendlier staff.

  • Alexa B.

My boyfriend & I both get the Carne Asada every single time. Mashed potatoes, veggies, & the melt-in-your-mouth steak are TO DIE FOR. Any time one of us gets something else on the menu we regret it because this dish is amazing. Drinks are good too. I loved the pear martini. All of our servers have been awesome. One small thing that seems to be happening regularly is that the bill/tip/black envelope thing are always sitting on the table from the party before us. Other than that, love coming here.

Love the food and drinks here. Good ambiance and attentive wait staff. The carne asada is the best around!

Best carne asada I have ever had! It is the best item on the menu! They have great cocktails and is a fun place on the weekends to grab drinks and dinner. Not usually much of a wait.

We came here on a Friday night. It was busy, but we scored a table in the bar pretty quickly. Service was quick and friendly. The drinks were yummy! I had the best carne asada taco ever!! We will be back.

A neighborhood gem! Excellent happy hour and open late. Best Salsa and Chips in town. The drinks are mixed well and are usually served very quickly. Not your typical Mexican restaurant, they have great original dishes as well as classics if you're in the mood. A popular spot that is highly recommended.

Azul is amazing. Servers are great, everyone working there is knowledgable. If you havent been there for breakfast, you are missing out. Great atomosphere. There only knock is when a game is one they hate it muted and still are playing music.

I have been coming to Azul regularly for a year and I have to say, it is my favorite restaurant in the area, maybe anywhere. The staff have always been professional, attentive, and offer great service. The food is great quality and for the price, definitely worth it. A few of my favorite dishes: Jalapeno Mango Margarita Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers Grilled Carne Asada Salad Creamy Seafood Enchiladas Creamy Seafood Enchiladas Creamy Seafood Enchiladas (Seriously, try the creamy seafood enchiladas.)

  • Cyndy L.

I have to say that I absolutely love Azul's. My favorite dish is the Carne Asada. It is unlike other Mexican restaurants in that the meat is fairly thick and sliced like a flank steak. It comes with mashed (more like smashed) potatoes and really yummy fresh sauteed green beans. It's all drizzled with the pan drippings from the meat. Wow. Also really scrumptious is the Carne Asada SALAD. Try them both you won't be disappointed. During their Happy Hour menu, try the Chicken Taquitos they come with salsa verde - also really really good. The only bad thing is I don't think it's really good for family gatherings as it's really loud in there because it's SO busy all the time.

    (5)
  • Jim G.

Not for everyone, I'd call this a mexican fusion kind of place. A friend recommended this quaint and outta the way place, so we decided to give it a try. Sad to say, I'd walked by it *many* times without knowing it was there. Once there, we enjoyed some exotic dishes, fish for me and burritos for Suzy. The service was polite and crisp, with no dawdling. The beer and other drinks list is complete and interesting. We'll be back.

  • Stacy K.

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant that serves the same few ingredients (bean, meat, tortillas, rice, cheese) in a million different ways. They are actually GOOD! The salsa while you wait is super spicy and yummy. Every salad I've tried has been great and I loved the salmon BLT sandwich!

Got a clump of hair in the salsa dip. Was one of the worst experiences.I went to as far as almost getting into a fight with the chef, I told him that there was no way that much hair could be there by "accident". Wanted to file a police report as well.

By far the best chips an salsa I've ever tried. Had nachos with a girlfriend, they were good. The service was great, the waitress that served us was very nice an efficient. :) over all, it's been a great evening. Totally recommend this place to anyone that's looking for a relaxing evening with great food to choose from. ;)

  • Taylore K.

Was really disappointed. The food was average at best. 2 out of 5. I was expecting really flavorful, savory Mexican food but instead it was bland and the menu was completely uninspired - bad Tex Mex circa 2001. Basically a Taco Bell meets high rent in Mill Creek Town Center without the same customer service lol. Don't waste your time.

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. The salsa is addictive and if you like pork, the carnitas plate is unbelievably amazingly delicious. The red snapper burrito is a close second.

Went here last night for the first time for HH. We were seated very fast since we sat at the bar. The service was very friendly & fast. The food was eh to say the least. Got the: "Blackend Fish Tacos" : Very bland, no taste. Just ended up picking at it, hardcore. "Roasted Corn & Avacado Chip & Dip": It was okay. Nothing to rave about. "Calamari" : Tasted just like the calamari at the Olive Garden, just sayin' My boyfriend had the "Bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers" which he said had too much cream cheese. He also ordered the "Pork Tacos" but didn't eat it because it had sour cream on it. I liked the whole ambiance, candle-light on the tables while there are TV's at the bar. Would I go here again? Um, not for the food.

You could say I come here a lot. I love Azul. Happy Hour is the best, but always packed. It's a little harder to find a table, but totally worth the wait. The bartenders are hilarious and the waitresses are super attentive. I dont eat a lot of red meat, but I ALWAYS get the Carne Asada. It is absolutely delicious. Not to mention their house margarita. Its quite delightful. The prices are so great for Happy Hour. Dinner can be a bit more pricy, but again, its worth it.

STRONG 4 STARS for what it is! A Good "Americanized" Mexican Restaurant! :) and their hot to serve chips and salsa is delicious!!! and when dining in the restaurant.. is FREE! I usually order my creamy shrimp enchilada is delicious until the next day! haha heaping quantities that I had enough to eat lunch the next day. Kept yummy even after a day. Enchilada, beans, rice and all! Quite a bit of a drive away tho. But when I'm heading back down south.. and craving for some good food.. Azul comes into mind :)

Very good food. Service during lunch was excellent. Love the warm chips and the dip is a salsa/pico combo with just a bit of zing. Portions are a tad small for the price, but quality over quantity! Our table had the enchiladas and flank steak. Plates were clean.

I rarely make a special trip just to eat at Azul, but if I'm running errands in the area, I'll sometimes make a stop for post-shopping food and drinks, especially if it's happy hour! Or maybe I should say ONLY if it's happy hour. I've had a full on dinner there a handful of times and nothing really blew me away. Decent food, but pretty basic. BUT the HH menu has a few tasty dishes at great prices. The Chipotle Beef Bites are a must for me--tender, bite-sized strips of beef in a very flavorful sauce. The Chicken Nachos and Calamari are also good. Their freshly made salsa is definitely a crowd pleaser, but chips and salsa are not free during happy hour (only $2...but just a heads up before you get all pissy at your server for "forgetting" to bring them out). I'm almost inclined to give 4 stars, but the lack of good HH drink deals and so-so non-HH dining experiences drop my rating down a bit. Come on the earlier end of HH if you can...this place gets packed!

  • Tom C.

The service and beef appetizers were the only thing that were good about this establishment. However, as me and a friend were enjoying ourselves in one of their booths the manager and other wait staff were constantly staring at us. At one point the manager blatantly gave me the dirtiest look. I would highly recommend the Lounge across the street. It is far more enjoyable.

I'm 24 and didn't have my ID on me. I was extremely hungry so I came for food and didn't want drinks anyways. They were only seating people in the bar area unfortunately. Didn't think they would completely push me out the door and loudly tell me about the Washington law while doing so. It was pretty embarrassing. I thought customer service would be first. It was a complete turn off and won't be coming here again.

I actually am torn between giving them 3 or 4 stars. Our first visit was awesome, 2nd not good at all, and 3rd for happy hour was excellent. Not sure if our 2nd visit landed on a night with different kitchen staff?? Anyways, service is always excellent. Even when it's crazy (and it's pretty much always crazy in there) we have never had bad service. Or even slow service. Its kind of a hot little spot in Mill creek so you can go casual or get away with being dressed up. Good spot for a date or with a group of friends. Romantic, sexy ambiance. 1st visit was on New Years Eve. Husband had porkchop with a Cajun jerk sauce and I had the steak fajitas. Excellent!!! We also had a couple cocktails and a lemon drop shot. All fantastic! 2nd visit was for a random date night. Bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers as the starter with a homemade sourcream/ranch type dipping sauce was AMAZING! Husband ordered Tacos al Pastor and I ordered carne asada tacos. Presentation was stunning, black beans and cotija cheese (I believe) we're tasty. Tacos came stuffed and serving size was large, however, they both were not that good at all. Really really bland. Their spicy avocado sauce, you couldn't really taste, and the meat left a lot to be desired. The texture of my carne asada was good but it did not have any flavor at all- and that was not my first rodeo with carne asada. Husbands pork was super dry also with no flavor. Left us disappointed. 3rd visit for happy hour on my husband's birthday. Bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers again (weird-first time not spicy, this time super spicy??) And coconut shrimp. Both were extremely good! Famous chips and salsa also really good! Cocktails are great, lots of variety, and you get your money's worth. Sangria is good but was mixed with sprite or maybe seltzer? Surprising but tasty. Not the strongest cocktail if thats what you're after. We will be back, definitely for happy hour, but a little nervous about their entrees after our tacos.

Went here recently to celebrate a friend's birthday. The place is part of a busy outdoor mall and was pretty busy itself. No parking out front but there was a lot of parking around the back. The restaurant is on the smallish side. Had to wait for 20 minutes for a table. Got chips and salsa automatically for free after being seated for a bit. Server was average, not bad but not good. Food was the same. I didn't like the black beans which seemed to just be boiled with a chunk of cheese on top, no spices or flavor. I'd give this place a try again in the future. Food: 3 Ambiance: 3 Service: 3 Parking: 4

Azul's makes me happy. This place is always packed and buzzing with energy. The waitstaff is enthusiastic and genuinely happy to see you. I've only been here a few times, but every time is a good time. We celebrated a friend's birthday on Saturday and I was endeared by how accommodating they were to her lively party, how gorgeous they made her feel with their words, and they didn't even mind the balloon bouquet I wedged in through the crowd. Steak nachos = a must!!

Went here for early happy hour one night with my partner and baby. After being seated, I asked for a happy hour menu and was told that happy hour was only served in the bar and we could not sit there because we had a baby. While I understand that babies cannot sit in bars, the attitude and response we received when asking to have happy hour where we were sitting since we had a baby was "nope, sorry. It's only served in the bar." I did not pursue the issue further. We did not stay to dine here. We've been to azul before and always liked it. But I did not appreciate the attitude toward us this time. It felt like we were being discriminated against because we had a baby! That will be the last time we ever go there.

Great brunch. Avocado and Roma Benedict was yummy. Kids are great here and the. 3 pancake breakfast was perfect for them little one. $66 out the door for a party of four with a mimosa was a great deal! Great place to celebrate and wonderful staff. It seems that it's like a Seinfeld episode, since all the women that work here are extremely attractive!

Went here for HH and was not impressed. I guess there's not too many places to go out in Mill Creek so that's why this place is always packed on the weekends, but still... We ordered 3 drinks and 1 HH side. Chicken Tacos - $5 - Chicken didn't seem to be marinated, and it would have tasted better with a corn tortilla instead of a flour one. I do have to say the chicken was surprisingly soft and tender. Pacifico - $5 - Draft beer. Can't eff that up. House Margarita - $6 - Not bad I guess. Not too sweet and enough tequila. Vodka Tonic - $5.50 - Quite bad! It was completely flat and tasted like vodka water. We told the waiter and he got us a new one and that was also flat (better though). Not sure if they use old bottles of tonic water or what happened but it was disappointing. I will say the prices are fair and the HH menu actually had a decent variety of food. Also, the wait staff was pleasant and quick to offer a new vodka tonic so kudos to that. Maybe I'll come back another time and try ordering different stuff, but this was really not that great of a first experience.

Went for Friday night late HH. We arrived at 10:00pm, by 10:20pm every table was full. Wonderful food. Overpriced beer and waitresses are snarky. Very crowded so maybe they were just super busy. Will go back. Fun place!!!! Chips and Salsa are wonderful $2.00

This was my second visit. First time was at 11 a.m. when they first opened. This time it was at about 3:15 p.m. It was not busy or crowded. There were about seven or so people dining at the time. Last time I ordered the Chop Chop Salad which was really good but this time I wanted to try out their Rico's Red Enchilada which was really good. I am a big eater but know that their serving portion is plentiful. I am a big eater and even I could not finish eating it all in one sitting. I like it that it is an ample portion and hope they keep it that way. I took half of it to go which wasn't bad. I ate it later for dinner :) Service was good too. Our server's name was Monique. She was personable and served us well. Womens' restroom was clean. Whenever I dine in restaurants I pay attention to how they maintain their restroom. I have no complaints. When I am in the area again I will probably return :)

I don't know what took me so long to write this review, I've been going here for happy hour since they first opened! I used to eat here so much i think i overdosed on if and had to take a break.(: I feel like a lot has changed since they first started out, portions for happy hour are a lot smaller and service is a hit or miss but it's still a great place to grab a bite to eat. They have an awesome happy hour menu that runs everyday 3-6 and than 10 till midnight. I've had everything on their happy hour menu and I think the best items would be the: calamari, chipotle beef bites, wedge salad and the chicken taquitos. These are honestly some of the best taquitos I've ever had! Crispy, Crunchy, and just the right amount of kick. They're filled with chicken and have this amazing green sauce with crema on top..mmmm! Everything else is pretty standard, the tacos are a little underwhelming and the soup is nasty. Azuls makes an awesome Sangria!!....and they are only $5! I can seriously drink 3 of those because they're so tasty and I'm usually a light drinker. I liked it so much I emailed them asking for the recipe! They also make awesome Lemondrops. I like the strawberry ones. They have a pretty good dinner menu as well. First of all the chips and salsa here are wonderful! They come complimentary with dinner but I thin $2 during HH. I really like their Carne Asada, it's beefy, juicy, and has a nice charbroiled flavor. They serve it a bit differently than what you would expect from Carne Asada at most places but it's great. The fajitas are good and so are the salads and sandwiches. They make an excellent Cobb Salad and the Carne Asada Sandwich is tasty. The Burrito here is massive and very filling but delicious as well. The ambiance and decor is pretty nice. However it can get a little too loud and crowded on the weekends especially late at night. Definitely a good place to grab a drink and a bite to eat if your up North not to mention excellent happy hour.

This place reminded me that I should break out of the city more often. The waitress was awesome and happily gave her recommendations and cues to make my dish the very best. She was attentive to our medium sized group making sure everyone had water or other delicious beverages. My only complaint would be the size. It is not easy to get around inside, in between tables. It's somewhat loud inside and difficult to hear if you have a large group. The food was beautiful and flavorful.

Azul has one of the best happy hours! Their chips and salsa are great, their sliders and quesadillas are awesome. The mood and decor are really cool. It's pretty dimly lit, there's cool tequila bottles on the walls, and the lighting is fun. The service is usually really good and attentive, it's a good spot for groups or a date!

Yumm-o! The good is GOOD, I mean really good. I ordered a blackened chicken wrap, and it was simply divine, the flavors were sharp. Why the three star rating, you ask? Service really wasn't great. Additionally, the waitresses I saw all had unhappy looks on their faces. I simply can't stand great restaurants with unfriendly staff.

  • Jason D.

Food is pretty good. I've eaten here a few times. The staff is the reason for the 3 stars, they are not great. They always act like I'm bothering them or shouldn't have come in. They are too busy talking to each other and looking like they are ready to hit the door. Otherwise though the food is pretty good. I've had several things and nothing has been bad. The Chicken Tortilla Soup is AWESOME!!

I love Azul but on this day, I had a fly swimming in my sangria. I informed them of this. They brought me a new one but didn't offer to comp the drink for the inconvenience. I didn't realized Azul standards decreased to the level where it's OK to have flies in peoples drink. Let's just say there's plenty of restaurants out there where having flies in drinks are unacceptable. I will not be returning anytime.

Oh my gosh does this place have amazing food. I had the steak and eggs and it was BOMB!! I wish I could afford to go there more often because seriously, this place is phenomenal. Next time I have a few bucks I'm coming back in the evening and I'm gonna get my drink onnnn!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!

The food is delicious and drinks are awesome. I've been going here for years and it's hands down the best happy hour spot in Mill Creek. The roasted corn and avocado dip is a must if you like avocado! The carne asada salad is my all time favorite dish.

One of my favorite restaurants... My boyfriend and I went there last night for Date Night, and we both got our staple meal: Carne Asada Salad. It is so yummy, and always made the same which is appreciated. I had a Session Lager and he had a Manny's... both server cold and tasted great. Our server was friendly and didnt bother us too much, but was also attentive and there when we needed her. Their chip and salsa were yummy. We come here for special occasions or date nights, as it is kind of a fancy lounge. But, we have also come here after working out in our gym clothes.

I went here for happy hour and had a $25 gift certificate to use so I was excited to spend it! My boyfriend and I went for the early happy hour on New Years Eve. Since you have to order drinks (min $3) for HH, and we don't really drink, we ordered the Strawberry Lemonade and Raspberry Lemonade. I preferred the first as it was less sweet but very refreshing and it was "real" strawberry lemonade made at the bar. We ordered the chicken nachos ($7) which was had a heap of toppings on it from olives, to beans, cheese, chicken, jalapenos, sour cream, and guacamole. I wanted to try the bacon wrapped jalapenos as well, and it wasn't spicy (to me at least) but it was delicious! Then again, bacon wrapped anything is probably delicious... We also tried the calamari and didn't finish it at the restaurant so we took it home for leftovers later that night. I ate it at home with cocktail sauce which tasted better to me than the sauce offered at Azul. Lastly we had the crab cakes which I thought were "meh - just OK." Overall the service was good and we enjoyed our time there (although I think we were the youngest in the restaurant by at least a decade so I guess it's not typically for young people in their 20s in terms of demographics).

Soo disappointed with the service here. Our credit card was charged 100.00 over the bill!!! I called the manager several times about it. He tried to tell me that they run the card to make sure you have enough money???? For a 32.00 dinner?? I don't think so!!! Something was fishy.. so then I heard of it happening to others. Buyer beware.

My husband I love Azul's. Best Tex-Mex around. Their fresh salsa is excellent and their happy hour apps are a great value.

I've only ever come in here at night with friends for happy hour and every time I have left EXTREMELY dissatisfied! The last time I went in the girl who was our waiter was to worried about her friends and fighting with her BF than to do her job. I have nothing NOTHING good to say about this place. The staff is nothing but conceded girls who only care about tables with guys. Takes forever to get food or drinks and the staff never comes back to check on you. I ABSOLUTELY HATE this place!! And on top of that you now have to pay for chips and salsa!

  • Ella P.

Love it! Have only been in for happy hour, love it though! The nachos are the best, they are always hot and come with a good amount of chicken. The drinks are really yummy. They don't have a lot of drinks for happy hour but their signature drinks are really good. The pear martini and huckleberry lemonade is delicious. Chips and salsa are $2 and the salsa is one of the best I have had in restaurants. Only thing I kinda dislike is their water glasses sometimes have soap scup probably from their dishwasher. Other than that the service is always great and the restaurant is clean.

Azuls is amazing.! Their nachos are delicious and their happy hour is awesome.! I always get lemon drops when I go there because they make really good ones. The atmosphere is classy and modern. There is always tons of people here too which is understandable.

Azuls is a nice place in a nice neighborhood. I ordered a seafood enchilada the first time and it was great along with a margarita. Second time I ordered steak fajitas to share with my girlfriend and it was alright. The veggies were kind of bland but the steak was good. I like that they provide a full separate plate of toppings for it. Drinks, I ordered a Kentucky breeze, didn't come with Trace bourbon (they ran out) so I had it with Makers Mark. It was good and I'd order it again. Probably wouldn't order fajitas again, but their salsa (with chips) is delish!

Great time with a great bartender! My husband and I stopped in here after dinner for a couple drinks and we were very happy with the service! He knew just about everyone's name and drink order right when they sat down. James is a real social person that is very good at his job. We will most definitely be back for dinner at some point and obviously to see James, our favorite bartender.

Went to Azul with a couple of coworkers for a team lunch. Great service, great food! I realized many days later that I needed the receipt and had lost it. The manager at Azul went above and beyond to track it down and reprint for me (it was about a month old). Will definitely be back!

We really enjoy Azul! Love their salsa, mango salmon is AWESOME and their mashed potatoes are perfect. You leave feeling full at the perfect price! Boyfriend loves the carne asade (I know just butchered that)! Lots of parking close by and I can bring my daughter in (before 10pm I think).this is a place we go for something special like celebrating a birthday or the new year!! Service is also wonderful!

I can not say enough good things about this place. Staff is great, food is delicious, and they have some great drinks. I would suggest going for happy hour to get the most bang for your buck.

Azul's is in my mind, one of the best choices of the restaurants in the Bothell/Mill Creek area. It has a nice brunch, lunch, and dinner menu, and the environment is unique and has some "buzz" to it. Food & Drink: Appetizers sit between a $7 and $11 price point and are OK, but in my mind are one of the weaker parts of the establishment. Those same appetizers become a bit more appealing during happy hour (3:00 - 6:00pm or after 10:00pm) when they drop to between $3 and $7. More importantly some of the entree items then show up on the happy hour menu (examples: tacos al pastor/habanero prawns). Tacos al pastor, blackened fish tacos, papa's burrito, and habanero shrimp/shrimp dishes are all ones I can comfortably recommend as being well spiced, cooked, and consistent. All very good. I've got a friend who considers himself a bit of a carne asada expert, and he tends to order that here with regularity and says it rates higher than most local spots. It's definitely a step up from the usual latin/central American food you'll find in the northwest. If you've got a light eater you've got seven unique salads (entree sized) to choose from. House cocktails here are decent and you have a diverse choice of spirits. There's nothing too unique other than perhaps the caipirinha which fits in well with the theme, but you will be able to find something that you can enjoy without issue. Would like to be able to order a pisco sour as given the regional theme, but it's suburbia so I can't complain. All house cocktails are pretty consistently made--if you go off the menu you're taking a slight risk. In terms of beer, the menu is less than stellar-- the sister restaurant located up the road, Indigo, is a better pick. Ambiance & Service: If you frequent The Matador, I'm told it's a similar feel. Ambiance here is slightly above average. The lighting is nice (dim) and the wood tables/chairs give it a rustic feeling to along with the jungle/plant theme behind the bar. I find the wood booths can be a bit uncomfortable, and the tables are spaced in a way that's a bit crowded in the middle. The bar itself is visually nice to look at. At any given time during the day you'll find a general buzz/busyness to the place. Service is average. I would give the same review for Indigo and for Pesos (sister restaurants) so it seems to sit with management not individual staff members. To be clear, not an unfriendly experience, just nothing spectacular or memorable. Final Thoughts: Given the suburban area that it sits in, Azul's does quite well for itself as a hang-out for career-minded singles/young couples. You've got nicely spiced latin/mexican food that's a bit different, and a drink menu/bar that's diverse and well stocked. Perfectly acceptable as a business lunch spot or a dinner date spot. -AC

The best Pear Martini out there. The food is more gourmet than traditional. Their salsa is to die for. Come for brunch, lunch, dinner or just drinks.

Awesome Carne Asada. Must try. So much flavor in the stake. Also the coconut shrimp cooked just right. Everyone usually over cooks shrimp. I added picture.

We visited here a few times in the last three months, each time as good as the last. Consistent prompt service, polite, friendly and accommodating to our needs, the waitress had no issue with us ordering something incorrectly and returning it to get the right dish! The food quality for three months was consistently good, different dishes order each time we went, so lets just say, congratulations to the chef, cooks and servers. Thanks also to management for a good restaurant we can go for Mexican food. Love it so far... keep it up!

I love chips and salsa. And, as everyone on the planet knows, this can make or break a restaurant. Azul passes! I'd actually heard from more than one person that they had awesome salsa so I made the short trek up there. Very nice atmosphere and I felt comfortable there with my 2 kids. Thankfully they put us off to the side too since it's a decent chance my kids will not behave. Not only is it likely annoying to people without kids, but it's also stressful for the parents of misbehaving kids. Sorry, I don't want to eat every meal at Red Robin. Back to the food...I had veggie fajitas, but I had to ask for them veggie; as in they don't just list it on the menu. I also wish they'd put together a vegetarian taco; perhaps something yam based. Very friendly and attentive servers. I'll definitely be back and bring my husband next time. I didn't have time to poke around, but Azul is in a nice-looking shopping center that I'd like to explore one day. Check them out!

Azules is predictable and most of the menu items are delicious! I had the shredded chicken Papa Burrito and BBQ Sliders. Chicken burrito was full of juicy and seasoned chicken with all the condiments to make it come together. BBQ sliders were tangy, robust in flavor. I highly recommend the chipotle mayo sauce for the french fries. It gets very busy....right now its 9pm on a thursday night and it is packed!

My son and I tried the place out for the first time the other day. Very nice! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the food is REALLY good. Their menu is a little pricy but it certainly was fresh and the food tasted great! It's hard to argue with price when the food is off-the-hook! The salsa is excellent! Looking forward to our next visit.

Good appetizers, happy hour and ambiance. Attentive service And good food! I used to visit a lot when I lived in mill creek and it was my fav happy hour spot in the area. Their food is good, not as good as other Mexican restaurants but their drinks are worth a visit.

This is my favorite resturant around. The salsa is amazing. The guacamole is ok. They tried to make it there own by adding corn and it is pretty chunky. Guacamole is just something you leave alone. With that being said everything else I have had is great. There carne asada sandwhich has changed a bit. It has gotten smaller and the bread isn't as good. The fries are the best freaken fries though. I usually order a Mexican type dish. The ingredients are fresh ( this place puts there own touches on there dishes, so don't expect authentic but don't expect it to be traditional American Mexican food) I love the seafood enchilada. The salads are good. Not a bunch a iceberg lettuce. It is a little pricey but you get fresh ingredients. They make pretty good drinks too.

I came here a couple of days ago and had there carne asada and I have to say this is the best I have had in a long time. The meat just melts in your mouth! Even there chips and salsa is really good. I would recommend this place to anybody.

We've been to Azul several times but our most recent visit left more to be desired. Both my husband and I ordered the seafood enchiladas. The 2 enchiladas had mainly shrimp with small bits of fish. The shrimps were translucent and tasted like it was uncooked. My husband, who loves Mexican food, can barely finished his. The shredded pork in my daughter Carnitas was also not very fresh. All of our entrees seem like they were "heat and served". I don't think we will be returning to Azul anytime soon.

Such great service and great food too. My friends and I were in during happy hour and it was busy, but the waitstaff was on point! Great prices on happy hour food. Drinks were expensive but worth the $$$.

Amazing food!! I went here for brunch on Sunday with my daughter. We had the Azul Scramble and the pink grapefruit mimosa ~ FAB!!! Salsa is SO FRESH!! everything was stellar. . .. the waitresses are a bit forgetful about you but they make up for it with great food. We will be back!!

Azul's is always one of my favorite spots, and I would usually rank it a 4 or 5 based on awesome staff, food and drinks. My friends are here all of the time and always sit in the bar area and have a great time. Last night though, one of my friends forgot his wallet (and obviously I.D.) so we had to sit in the main restaurant area instead of the bar- which was fine. The server in the bar was nice enough about it, although I don't think she believed that my friend was actually of age, and literally just forgot his wallet. The night continued, I got a beer, which my friend took occasional sips from throughout conversation, out of habit. The manager must have been suspicious about my friend because she delivered our food with our server, asking about the beer and if I needed another. They proceeded to stand by the register watching us like hawks. Our server, Renee, came over at one point, asked if we were sharing the beer and coldly told my friend, "you can't be drinking" and walked away. I understand that her manager may have been pressuring her to say something, but she absolutely had no intention of being friendly or understanding about it. I would have respected her intentions if she wasn't so blatently rude about it. The rest of the night was filled with suspicious/condescending tones, and watchful eyes from the manager and servers. I honestly felt like we were 17 year olds, in trouble, and in high school again & felt completely disrespected. With such a lack of customer service, I'm surprised I got myself to actually leave a tip. Like I said, it's usually such a good experience that I almost feel bad giving it a bad review based on this one unpleasant experience, but it really left a bad taste in my mouth. Moral of the story: check that you have your wallet. Triple check.

When I first moved into the town center I was excited to try this place out. It was always packed and looks trendy and fun. The atmosphere was nice, the staff was friendly, and the drinks were great. The food was mediocre and it was priced a bit too high for what it was.

Been coming to this place for many years now and still have never been disappointed. So I decided to finally leave them a good review because they deserve it. I want to start off with by saying that their service is phenomenal and they keep them chips and salsa coming. Never have I waited for my food or drink a long time. It's a pretty clean place and very fun on the weekends after 10pm. (It turns into a bar). So, if you're an adult and like to have a fun time this would be a great place to go in Mill Creek town center. I love their appetizers such as Mongolian beef bites and nacho's "yuuum". Gotta try those. They are delish! If you're ever in Mill Creek don't forget to stop by Azuls. 5 stars...

Get the Carne Asada Steak Salad. Yummmmmmmm! The steak is always cooked perfectly and it's a well balanced salad even for someone for a big appetite like mines. I like the ambience and it's a good place for a casual after work dinner. The chips and salsa are very good, I couldn't keep my hands off! Overall, the service was good.

Really good place. Love their guacamole and regular salsas. They are usually packed because they do have amazing happy hour choices. Inside is very loud because of people talking and music playing, but the food is good, then again idk since I was drinking a lot that night lol.

This is split into two reviews, one for their Happy Hour and the other for the Restaurant. Happy Hour: I've been going to their Happy Hour for about 5 years now, maybe 20 visits. Service has always been fast, food as always been good. I think its kinda weird that you have to pay extra for chips and salad at a "Mexican" restaurant. It does get very crowded if you're not there early. Overall it continues to be a good Happy Hour and I will continue to visit. Restaurant: My girlfriend and I decided to have dinner at Azuls and after putting out names down with the hostess was given a 15-20 minute wait time. I noticed that once that time passed others who checked in after us were being sat. I then asked the hostess what happened and was told they messed up while I noticed a line through my name. The hostess was very apologetic and quickly sat us and got water. It took about 10 minutes for our waitress to show up and get our drink order, another 10 to take our order, someone else brought the food out, then she walked by and I had to ask for the bill. This was a much different experience then their Happy Hour. So I tipped the waitress about 5% then walked over to the hostess and tipped her 10% since she was hustling all night and was actually sorry for messing up earlier that night.

Perfect happy hour location! The prices are good and the quantity is sizable, as well as delicious! I've been here twice now, once it was packed and most recently it was quieter. After realizing they are sister restaurant Indigo I can see some similarities, but I think the HH is better here! We had the nachos (grande apparently!) and calamari, both delicious. Overall none HH I'd probably go with 3 stars, but this deal bumps them up for sure. The Sangria was delicious as well, check them out!

  • Paige W.

Staff is always friendly, prices are great (happy hour are better), portions are good and they have s full bar. Parking can be hectic as this is a popular place but in a small mal area. Open to 330 is best, Fridays and Saturday nights are packed as ate Thursday and Friday happy hour times.

I have a friend that absolutely loves going to this place for their steak! One of the first places I ate at when I moved to Washington from California :) The environment was fun, the steak was amazing and the staff was great!

I still go here occasionally because my boyfriend likes one of their dishes, but if I moved away, I wouldn't miss it. First off, the food is a big hit and miss. They have some really good dishes and the rest are bland or just plain bad. Besides the Jamaican jerk pork Chop, they serve brunch on the weekend that is delicious. Other than the meat dishes, don't try anything else or you will be disappointed. The main reasons I don't like coming here is the staff. They are snobby to everyone. One time, I went in with my boyfriend when it wasn't crowded and whoever was manning our section forgot about us. We waited twenty minutes before a waitress from across the restaurant came up to us concerned about whether or not we have been helped. She has been the only nice waitress so far. Every single time I go there it's just terrible service no matter how nice and easy of a customer you are.

Went on a Thursday night for happy hour. The service was horrible. It took a ridiculously long time to get our beers, food and check. The staff needs to lighten up and be more friendly. Seriously, it doesn't hurt to smile. Thank goodness the food was great. The chicken tacos were delicious! I almost bought more for later!

This is probably my favorite spot to come to in the area! The salsa is the best I've ever had! And I usually take my chips with sour cream and salsa, I love the way they don't just serve plain sour cream but it comes with chopped onions and parsley and is heavenly. I usually come here just to buy a big container of their salsa to go, which is only 10$ with a side of chips. It's free if you stay in and eat, but 10$ for the big one if you just buy it for home. If anyone has a recipe for the salsa here, I will love you forever! :)

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. The place has a bar feel to it with a bunch of TVs everywhere playing sports. Their brunch is served until 2pm and they offer both egg dishes and their regular Mexican fare. I opted for the pork enchiladas in verde sauce and it was great! The portion was large and there was plenty of meat. The service was great and they even split our check up without asking, knowing who was with who. The people I was with who got breakfasty type dishes did not like theirs as much so I would recommend going with something from the Mexican side of the menu.

I'm a sucker for good brunch and Azul doesn't disappoint. Their eggs Benedict are really great! The hollandaise is house made and super buttery. I don't think you'll regret ordering this decadent breakfast! My guy always gets the carne asada breakfast and he loves it. It's not traditional carne asada but it's tasty nonetheless. I can't resist their nachos. I'm always on the prowl for yummy nachos and I've found the winning plate right here at Azul. They're on the happy hour menu and I highly recommend them! The service is always friendly and prompt and there are always 2 or 3 games playing in the bar. It's a great spot for a lazy Sunday.

I went here tonight with two other couples - everyone was quite happy with their food. I had the shrimp tacos with a glass of pinot grigio and my husband had the ribeye with mac & jacks. I tend to drink a lot of water so I appreciated that they keep pitchers at the table. Our waitress was attentive without being intrusive. We look forward to going back.

Fish tacos were so good. Salsa to die from and the warm chips with sea salt are a perfect fit. A lot of food for the price. Fun atmosphere. Clean bathroom !!! Service very slow. Had to ask for everything and it took forever to take our order. This was at 1:00 on a Tuesday. I really enjoyed the food at this place.

  • Shawna R.

Wow this place has the best carne asada I've ever had, and I'm a lover of steak so that is saying a lot. I also love their salsa which is fire roasted so its spicy but very flavorful. We always get a carton when we throw parties. They have a great brunch menu on Sat and Sun too. Crab cake benedict is very tasty with some spice added in. This is not for people who don't like spice, this place is spicy. Servers are usually very nice and friendly and service is semi quick. Also one of the best happy hours in the area. Great good at a decent price. Highly recommend this place.

Ate here last night as a friend loves this place. The service in the bar was so great we turned in our pager and ordered in the bar. Chips and salsa are great. Food was ok, but nothing special. I ordered blackened fish tacos and found them pretty flavorless except for a little bit of heat from the 'blackened' fish. The rice and beans had no flavor either. Hubby had the carne asada dish and found it over spiced and forgettable. Friends all enjoyed their meals but they also don't eat out as much. The brownie ala mode dessert was tasty and I would have been happier having chips and salsa and then dessert. Probably a good choice restaurant if you don't want to drive south to Seattle where there is a lot more selection and flavorful similar choices.

My husband and I always go here! Our favorite meal is the Carne Asada! It is our favorite meal ever! The steak is marinated so well and the green beans are perfect! I love to try their other meals like the Carne tacos, Carne Asada sandwich, chop chop salad. The jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon are amazing but super hot!! You were warned. The atmosphere is great too! Love to go with friends for a drink or on a hot summer day I love to eat outside! One of my favorite restaurants!

I came here for dinner last week with friend to celebrate her birthday. I'd heard lots of good things about the place and I was glad to see that they were right on! We started off with some chips and salsa, both of which were super tasty. The chips were nice and salty and the salsa had some serious zing - in a good way! For my entree, I had the chicken fajitas, which were really delicious. It came with tons of chicken, onions, and green peppers, plus a huge side plate of black beans, lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, and guacamole (and sour cream if you want - I did not want). The flavors were awesome. And the portion size was incredibly huge and I had more than enough for lunch the next day. Prices are a little high ($15 for chicken fajitas, $17 for steak or shrimp), but pretty much on par with similar type restaurants. I have also heard they have a great happy hour, so that is a good way to save a few bucks! Service was friendly and attentive. The ambiance of the interior is nice as well - very relaxed. I'm sure I'll be back here - it was too delicious not to return!

Azul's has been our go-to for great lunches and dinners and the occasional brunch. All of the food is served in plentiful, delicious portions. A few of my favorites: Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad Chop-Chop Salad (and chop-chop side) Fish Tacos Pollo Caldo And for drinks? Cannot beat the mango jalapeno margarita (IMHO). Service is usually great, and you cannot beat their chips and salsa, anywhere! P.S. They do take out orders.

Love this place :-) they have so many HH food selections you can try something different every time and never be disappointed. Good portions. Great taste. Reasonable prices. I will say this...there should be more cocktail specials for HH available. It's a beer, sangria, wine or a margarita. Service is friendly and casual. This is no fine dining establishment but it's great to catch a game, grub some food and put back a few drinks.

Azul has been our favorite neighborhood restaurant and bar for several years. The food is great, nice ambience, and friendly staff. Menu prices are reasonable and food quality is good. For the best value and sampling of their many tasty dishes, it is best to come during Happy Hour. I recommend their red sangria with chipotle beef bites (beef marinated in a spicy chipotle-soy sauce) and nachos. Outside of their Happy Hour menu, their grill menu options are delicious. My only wish is that they accept the Passport dining card again. A perfect five star rating if they did.

I took a large group of friends here for happy hour. The food is great, but the waitresses are snots. They seem friendly, but will ignore you and not check back to see if you need anything else. You pretty much have to flag them down to order. I know some places tend to not care for large groups, but if you are expecting anyone to come back, you would want to take advantage of catering to a large audience. Our waitress didn't bring my friends change back after he paid is bill. His bill was $3 for a cup of coffee and he put in a $5. She never came back. He did ask for the manager and the manager brought his change. I may or may not go back, I will not bring a large group back. There are PLENTY of good places in the area where service is much better.

Very good food for a very decent price. The service was pretty good for how busy it was, and although I was a fan of there food and service I prefer quieter restaurants and that is the only reason it doesn't get a five star from me.

I went there with friends for Sunday brunch and the food was awesome. Our waitress could have been alittle more attentive but the food and coffee were so worth it. Definitely would go again. I had the Pollo Caldo soup and the Carne Asada. Yummy!

Awesome happy hour! We often go after MOPS and shut the place down. It's nice to have a place in the Mill Creek area that stays open late! I love the Onda Salad and the chicken nachos. My favorite drinks are the sangria and pear martini. Yum!

i'm not sure how i feel about the service...they never fill your water...but the food is good. portions are small, but i think it's worth it considering the taste of the food...pretty yums!

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. You'd expect to find this place downtown, but conveniently, it's in the Mill Creek Town Center!

Came in here the other day for quick happy hour treats and treat it was. I got the Chipotle Beef Bites & Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers. I had already had a late afternoon snack so wasn't all that hungry but I'd almost wished I had been famished. The grill menu looked so good I'll have to come back sometime with my appetite in full gear.

I've been in here a few times, twice for happy hour/dinner and once for lunch/breakfast on a weekend. During the lunch visit I had a grilled chicken sandwich, which was exactly what I was expecting, nothing spectacular. My dining companions both had breakfast and both raved about it, so I've been meaning to go back for breakfast. Happy hour is great if you want a bite to eat, a truly great deal. However I wish they would give even a slight discount on drinks. I had a hurricane there and it was nice and strong, which was a pleasant suprise. Their fish tacos are decent, calamari con jalapenos are amazing (if you like jalapenos. For dinner my husband had the jerk porkchops which were delicious and a huge portion (we really could have split the plate). I think I had the fajitas, they were okay but obviously not too horribly memorable (it was awhile ago so they may have been spectacular). The decor is beautiful. Compared to other similar restaurants (I'd rate The Matador in the same category) it's a bit of a step down but still a great find for Snohomish County where it is mostly chain restaurants.

Want to go out on Friday night but don't want to deal with Kirkland, Belltown or Bellevue? Azul is the spot! It is loud but not to the point that you can't have a conversation. The music is great too. Perfect place to pre funk or end the night. You really can't go wrong. Drinks are great! Food is Great! Atmosphere is great! People are pretty! Tons of parking! Prices are average in my opinion. Not much to complain about! Definitely recommend!

Me and my husband went here for happy hour, and it was a last minute thing we decided on. Plus he didn't eat dinner yet, however I already did hehe ...So we arrive there and we probably had to wait 10 or 15 min because it was crowded. So we get our table and ordered 5 selections from the happy hour menu and a one minimum beverage is required but it doesn't need to be alcohol. We ordered: Chicken Quesadilla, Crab Cakes, Chipotle Beef Bites & Poblano Artichoke Dips. My favorite was the Chicken Quesadilla. I dint really like the crab cakes or the artichoke dips but I will just say it was okay. Anyway, this place is nice to chill and hang out, happy hour is alright to me.

Great happy hour that you don't have to drive all the way downtown for. We had the roasted corn and avocado dip(very good, could use a bit of salt), Caesar salad(loved the dressing), crab cakes(very flavorful and crunchy), and the black end fish taco(that was so-so. my least fave out of all the dishes). drink specials are only on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, which kinda sucks, but still worth the food. Nice decor, nice friendly staff.

Even though I live not far from here and am always over at the Mill Creek Center, tonight was my first visit to Azul. The Good: 1) Nice atmosphere--I like the blue wall with all the candles...but I can't help but wonder: who has to light all those candles? That's one tall wall, and since I'm only 5 ft 2, I obsess about things like this. 2) Yummy drinks. I love a good cocktail, and I especially love when a restaurant has a cocktail list that is just as long as the dinner menu. 3) Good food--though the servings are massive. I had the carnitas--very tender chunks of pork seasoned with spices like cinnamon. Mmmm. The black beans have pieces of bacon in them, which sucks if you're a vegetarian, I suppose. The Bad: 1) There is no real entry area. You know--no place for a hostess to stand, so when you come in, you're not entirely sure where to go. 2) The drinks, though tasty, could have been stronger, especially for what you're paying for them. 3) The menu isn't huge, so you better find something you like! 4) The busboy was over-eager to clear the table, making us feel a little rushed towards the end of our meal. Overall, everything tasted good and seemed fresh, so I'm being a little more generous on the stars than usual. I want to try Azul again to see how it fares with repeat visits. UPDATE: 8/29 After further thought about Azul, I'm taking away a star. This place is WAY over hyped and it just didn't live up the expectations. Plus I am feeling mean today!

Love this place. Wonderful atmopshere that is very relaxing and clean. Excellent food. Reccomend going during happy hour and sitting in the bar area as their happy hour specials are very good and filling. Their chips and salsa are exceptional!!!

Have been there a couple of times. I would say it is the only place in Mill Creek neighborhood that is crowded and buzzy and kinda stylish. It has a small bar.We ordered nachos and enchilada. They usually serve chips and salsa - complimentary. But our waitress "assumed" we won't need chips as we ordered nachos.Atleast that is what she said, when we asked for chips after waiting for some time.Food is very average. And prime card holders get one entree free (of equal or lesser value )when you order one entree.

Let me start with - VERY BUSY in the evenings. Great, so they are busy, I am trying to understand why? Oh, its the new Mill Creek Town Center buzz. People are tired of driving far for food. My husband took me there thinking I'd be thrilled, I had already heard that it was kinda so-so, and the prices were not so-so (higher). I showed up, I ordered chicken quesadillas cuz I'm not paying more than $7-8 for so-so food, nor will I let him if I'm complaining later. I got decent food, no better or worse than anywhere else (comparing with the likes of Azteca, Gorditos, and La Palmera). The quesadillas were very fresh, very cheesy, but lacked chicken beyond the middle (dude, spread it out!). Drinks, weak!!!! And I'm sorry, but Happy Hour is defined by me by drink specials AND food specials. I can't be happy if my weak drinks are overpirced and not discounted. I will go back if dragged by a group of friends who insist. Otherwise, I'll stick with Gorditos for quesadillas that taste the same for less. And Assteca is my kinda place for drinks (free-poured shots anyone?) and happy hour specials and yes, food is much better at Azul than Azteca - better be, for the price and no coupons). For all you non-money conscious, weak-drink, limited menu kinda people: enjoy! The food is good. I'll stick to dinner during happy hour, minus the weak, overpriced drink. PS - loud place, slowish service (albeit friendly!), and minimal menu selection.

We have been twice to Azul. Both times the food was great (carne asada), but it's super noisy with a college atmosphere. Not a relaxing place to dine, but maybe good for singles.

I heard about the good brunches so I took my friend here for her birthday. We had a bad experience with the service - they took FOREVER to bring us our food. In fact, after we placed our order, then our server pretty much disappeared. Can't say exactly how long but it was long enough for us to notice and we were having a great conversation! We talked to the manager who finally had someone bring us our food and didn't allow us to pay afterward. The food was delicious and it may have been just this one experience and this one server, so we MIGHT give it another go but ... I guess the whole waiting game left a bad taste in our mouths and we may not be back again.

Alright food I guess, but why go here when Clay Pitt is down the street or Thai food close by? Maybe for the booze? Nothing unique that sets them apart. It does well because it's one of the few late(ish) hang outs in Mill Creek. If you're missing Bellevue and the unoriginality of their bars in a smaller package, this place is perfect.

Want a great place to do happy hour? This is it! You can either stop by after work (unitil 6) or go there for late night (10-1). Drinks ARE NOT on special, but you can't get better quality "appetizers" for the price. This is a latin themed restaurant, but not your typical mexican food. Their Nachos and Calamari are much better than what you're probably used to. They also have great salads, sandwiches, beef tips, and my personal favorite, Pollo Caldo, which is a spicy chicken, rice, and veggie soup. Mmmmm..... nothing better on a cold winter night. We like to go in, split a few menu items, have a couple of drinks, and enjoy the unique decor. All for around $30. Best Cheap Eats Mill Creek has to offer!

I don't know about the rest of the food, but "the soup", the pollo caldo soup, is one of my favorite new things. I'm not from seattle, but the next time I'm back there, I'm going back for the soup!

We tried Azul for the first time about a month ago. It was a busy weekend night and the beautiful people were out in droves and had this place hopping. After about a 15 min wait my party of three were seated in nice big booth with lots of room to spare. Chips and FRESH salsa were promptly delivered to the table. And the salsa was the freshest I've ever had in a restaurant. With A LOT of cilantro. The margaritas were delightful and tasty and my tuna burrito was divine. The service was attentive and friendly and the decor of the restaurant was aesthetically pleasing. The price of the food is a bit more than one typically pays at a mexican restaurant but well worth it. I will definitely be back.

I live just up the road from Azul and it took me nearly six months to stop in. What a mistake. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, the chicken quesadilla with salad delicious. Try their chipotle blue cheese dressing, it's the perfect blend of cool and spicy and a wonderful complement to the meal choices. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The bar has some amazing metalwork with the liquors and such interspersed so even though it's obviously a working bar, it's nice to look at as well. The servers and hosts are all friendly and the crowd lively and loud. Good place to catch a football game on the weekend or for a happy-hour stop on the way home from work; I'll be a regular.

Great neighborhood place to eat. Whether you are looking for a great happy hour, or delicious Sunday Brunch, definitely a no brainer. The only thing that could make it better is if they had live acoustic music a day or two per week!

Every meal comes with chips and salsa and their salsa is yum. So yum in fact that when I threw my own lil' BBQ, I ordered myself a somewhat medium tub of salsa to go. It's that good. Fresh ingredients make such a difference and it has the perfect amount of spicy heat to it. Whenever I come here, it's usually for weekend brunch which they do a pretty good job of. It's not the best but it's as good as it gets around here. I get the crabcake benedicts with a side of potatoes. The potatoes does a have slight kick to it. I've also been here for drinks and appetizers too and it can get pretty busy in the evening. I would have to say it's one of the more sophisticated bars around the Mill Creek area. Service has always been great: friendly and prompt. Oh yeah, remember Blake from American Idol a couple seasons back? I saw him outside of here too so cool local celeb sighting.

The atmosphere, especially on a nice sunny day sitting by the large open windows, is excellent. Unfortunately, the food is just okay for the money and the service is lousy. If you want to be seen in a Mill Creek wanna-be-trendy restaurant, this is the right place. If you want a good meal and good service, it isn't.

  • Kirsti H.

This palce has quickly become my favorite after work hangout. The girls and I stop here once or twice a week for a quick drink after our shift and sometimes dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is quick, the drinks are strong and the food is absolutely wonderful.

Although I don't like a lot of azul's dinner food, it is a GREAT happy hour spot. The drinks are good and the appetizers are even better. You cannot beat their nachos - i get them with shredded pork sans olives, they're a delight to the taste buds. The best part is in the summer they remove the large windows in the front, so it's like outdoor dining, yet not. how swanky.

I've since edited my review! The service has seen improvement over the last year! The salsa is a little too spicy some nights, but I can deal. Would definitely recommend.

this place is fun...hear about it from some friends at work....it is sort of a mexican fusion with a bit of caribean......the food is good and the atmosphere is incredible....the only thing that upseted me was that a lot of dished had green bean and mashed potates as sides....it's kind of awkward...the carne asada and pork chops were great...not quite mexican...but good for a date or after work....

Good ambiance, love the lighting at night. Sometimes it gets loud, but I'm loud so I can't really complain. I really like Azul for a drink and happy hour appetizers. I love their fish tacos. Only problem is the service. The waitresses (I'd say servers but they are all women) are terrible. They aren't attentive, polite, or efficient. As a server, I know it gets busy, but you can always be polite. My worst experience was one night, after hitting the gym, I wanted to stop in with a friend to catch up and have a little something to eat. We ordered appetizers and water (I just ran 5 miles, I don't exactly feel like a hefeweizen), when the server informed me of their drink minimum. I HAD to have something to drink to get the happy hour food. That's TERRIBLE. I work in a restaurant, I know happy hour sucks when people don't drink and the tabs aren't very big, but you don't force the customer to order a drink or charge them extra. I'm in the industry, I tip well, and the customer is always right, so when my bill came with two Beverage charges, needless to say I wasn't thrilled. I used to like this place, but I'm a little turned off. So in the future, I'll go to see friends, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

happy hour happy hour... it's my favorite thing to do hahah... and my girlfriend up in mill creek told me to meet up with her for happy hour at her favorite spot azul .. she isn't much of a foodie at all.. so I was concerned.. but hey.. I am visiting her, and it was her idea... --going in with apprehension----- our order: chicken nacho's - not bad.. calamari - actually really good because it had little bits of garlic and jalapeno's in it... fish taco's - not bad either.. but not amazing... really watery.. it sounds like i might the runs grossss...... my drink order- grey goose soda- weak pour and it was 8 dollars.. hmmmm.... I don't mind paying 8 dollars but for a weak pour.. WIGGIDITY WIGGITY WACK!!! second drink - their key lime pie martini... it was too sweet... I guess that is what I get for ordering a dessert for a drink... and it was weak too.... hmmmm interesting...... my friend miranda also ordered the key lime martini and she said," yum, it tastes sooooooooooooo good.. I can't even taste the alcohol..." enough said.. you can't taste it.. means there isn't any hahhah.. or maybe just a little bit.. third drink - a corona..... yummy...sad but yummy..... happy hour is a good thing.. and if I am spending more money to compensate for the cheap food.. it better be amazing and strong!!!! anyhow... probably won't go back.... the city has more amazing happy hour worth my time.. fyi - the camera's in the mill creek town center stop lights do take pictures.. I got a 130 dollar ticket.. wack.... damn california stops hahaha... never going back up north!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of people must come here because it is one of the only trendy places in the North End. But it felt kind of meat-markety to me and like it was trying to ride on its cool hip image to compensate for the lack of flavor in its food. I had the Island Fish Sandwich and it was completely flavorless and overpriced at $11. Like one of the other reviewers said, it just tasted really bland and like some ingredients were missing or something. The server was decent but seemed to be too engrossed in flirting with some guys at another table to pay much attention to me. This review is based on a visit to the restaurant back in early 2010 so it could have improved since then, but based on the other reviews, it doesn't sound like much has changed.

Azul is a very good "Bistro" Mexican place. It's not a place you would want to go if you were driving for "authentic", but the food IS delicious, and you will get a good meal. I think I could live off their roasted corn guacamole dip. I also heartily recommend their carne asada and carnitas! Lots of food that you will be loving for leftovers the next day. I have always had excellent service there myself. I was there last Sunday and the waitress was very sweet and attentive. I do recommend going at off-peak hours if you can, though. It DOES get very busy, so if the waitstaff seems a bit grumpy, it's because the place gets packed and hectic. Oh! And they DO do take-out! So if you would like some very yummy food without being in the restaurant, feel free to call!

love love love! if i had 1 more day to live i think i would go here just for the chips and salsa... amazing. Service was great, food was fantastic (i had the carnitas... gah.) and it's really cozy!! My new favorite restaurant for sure! go go go!

Wife and I live in the area and were frequenting Azule for past 2yrs. Quality of food=great. Drinks=great. Don't change those elements. Now for the not so great. C.S. is very hit and miss in afternoons. Also CHIPS AND SALSA YOU ARE CHARGED for during happy hour. You guys can do alot better than that. Don't nickel and dime and you go to 3-4 stars

My husband and I absolutely love this place!!! Not only is it a great date spot, but a fun atmosphere out with the girls. The food is phenomenal. I have tried at least 15 things on the menu (fajitas, carne asada, chop salad, crap cakes, burger, bbq pork sandwich, fish tacos, chicken tacos, nachos, house salad, grilled chicken sandwich, plus all their breakfast brunch items!!!) So, long story short out of all that the only thing I wasn't happy with was the grilled chicken sandwich. I would recommend this place to anyone, and the thing I love about it is it never gets old! Happy hour is a must and a great way to try everything. Also, they accept the passport card :)

This place is mediocre for me. Not bad by any means, but not super excellent either. The reason? Lack of vegetarian options. Sure they can make a vegetable burrito or vegetable enchilada - but where's the creativity? I had a vegetable enchilada. It was okay. The veggies were lacking in flavor but the sauce (there's only one vegetarian sauce) was flavorful. I think it was the chipotle sauce - but I can't recall for sure. If you're a veg head like me, get a salad instead of the rice and beans which are made with lard and chicken stock. I think their menu needs a slight upgrade. Surely I can't be the ONLY vegetarian requesting something more creative. Perhaps a burrito with cumin scented tofu? Yes, bourgeois sounding, but has potential for awesomeness. The 5 other people (super carnivores) that I went with all gushed about how their meals ruled. So if you're carnivorous, you'll love this place. If you're vegetarian, beware, you'll leave feeling disappointed.

Azul is fast becoming one of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere and is decorated well. We've never had to wait long before getting a table. The food always looks/tastes fresh, and is very tasty. To start, they serve chips and salsa... their salsa is the BEST! Very flavorful. Today we visited Azul for brunch (10am-2pm on weekends), and I definitely have to give this a recommendation as well. I ordered the Western Scramble, and my husband had the Eggs Benedict. Sure beats breakfasts at the Saw Mill, yet the restaurant was only mildly busy.

ive been eating here since it opened and have always had great service and better food... the tortilla soup and the chopchop salad are my favorite! but today i got the fish and shrimp tacos... both of which were amazing, except the fish had a couple bones in... i told my waitress about the bones and she was super quick to bring me out an entire new plate of just shrimp tacos and comped me and my friends lunch for my trouble... she went way beyond what i wouldve expected... THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! it's my favorite north end mexi place and i will be spending many summer nights drinking on the patio this summer :)

Went tonight and when we entered we were not sure if someone will come and sit us down. After few seconds they came and told us is happy hour and we could sit any place. The bar was packed , but there were like 5 tables available. Some one came with water after couple of minutes. It was a little loud , but I like it as we can talk and laugh and no one heard you. We ordered the prawns, nothing special but they were good. My margarita was very strong and I like it. The service was excellent. We definitely will return.

It was okay. I had high expectations because I had heard a lot of good things. A few things bugged me about what could have been a good experience. First, it was Friday, the bar was packed, which is fine by me, but HH didn't extend to the restaurant - which kind of ticked me off because we couldn't get a seat in the bar because it was full. Second, they wouldn't seat us until 4 out of our party of 6 was there - and the restaurant was completely empty - and when I say completely, I mean there was not one person sitting in the restaurant at the time I got there -everyone was in the bar. So I asked the hostess if I could talk to the manager and with 3 out of our party there he gave us a table and said they have had problems in the past with 1 person sitting at a big table for many hours taking up real estate. Which I thought to myself, does it really happen that much?? The calamari was good.

My fiance and I come here every year as a tradition as this was where we went on our first date. We come here on the anniversary to celebrate and recreate that night. Last night was our 3rd anniversary but we have been here a few other times as well. In the past we've had decent service but last night was horrible! We went in the back corner to sit at our "original" table and there was no one back there but the rest of the bar was busy. Our waitress approached us seeming kind of put off we had sat back there and asked as what we wanted to drink. She didn't hand us menus or anything. When we asked for them she just grabbed them off a dirty table next to us and walked away. She didn't come back for 15-20 minutes to get our drink order. I ordered a glass of white wine and another 15 minutes later I got a glass of red. I walked up to the bartender since our waitress didn't come back and he fixed it right away. We ordered our food (which took forever for 2 apps) and never had our waitress check back with us until we asked her for the check. All in all it was a pretty disappointing night for something that should have been special. I hope it was a one time occurrence.

We went to Azul last Friday night around 6:30pm. It was a little crowded, but we were seated right away. I'm generally not a big fan of Mexican food as it pretty much all tastes the same to me and usually bothers my stomach, so I was not expecting much. Anyway, we were promptly given the caraffe of water (wish more places would do this) and our chips and salsa. As many have already said - this salsa is amazing. We went through most of the first bowl of it in about 5 minutes and without us asking it was replaced with a new bowl. We had absolutely no issues with the service. The waitresses were friendly and prompt. We had the Surf 'n Turf (carne asada + habenero shrimp) and both were amazing. This was the best carne asada I have ever had. We also had the chicken quesadillas off the appetizer menu, and those were also amazing. The meat was far better tasting then I've had at most Mexican restaurants. The only knock I have on this place is that the dinner prices are a little steep, but if you stick to the more standard Mexican dishes they aren't too horrible.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
